Where was it filmed?
Filming began in WA’s South West before moving to Perth, according to Screenwest and the Western Australian Government. What is the film about?
Official descriptions center on two couples at a secluded-island celebration, where a conflicting memory of a past incident threatens their relationships. The producer’s synopsis gives the setup more specifically: Matilda and her fiancé Alex celebrate at a beach house hosted by their friends Jake and Josie, and a game called “Newlyweds” brings a buried secret into view. The sources describe a character-driven psychological thriller dealing with trauma, love, friendship and consent; they do not establish further plot details.
What was the expected local impact?
In its 2025 announcement, the WA Government forecast around 95 local jobs and an estimated $3 million in economic activity, including around $1.05 million in regional WA. These were projections published with the filming announcement, not a confirmed final job count or audited account of spending.

Screen Australia lists the film as completed in 2026 and identifies Madman Entertainment as its Australian sales representative and Metro International as its international sales representative. Those sales listings do not establish a public release date, streaming availability or a DVD/Blu-ray release. The producer’s page still labels the project “coming soon” with a 2025 [TBC] date, but that older schedule wording should not be read as a current release announcement. Good Thing Productions’ project page retains that label.
