Crunchyroll’s Fall 2024 anime lineup included Dragon Ball DAIMA and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3. Their release details were not the same: Toei announced a subtitled Crunchyroll launch for DAIMA in specified territories on October 11, 2024, while the official Re:ZERO schedule describes Japanese broadcasts and streams. Those historical dates do not confirm either series is currently available in every region.

What Crunchyroll announced for Fall 2024

Crunchyroll’s Fall 2024 lineup announcement included both series. For readers deciding which one to watch, the central difference is straightforward: DAIMA introduces a new Dragon Ball adventure, while Re:ZERO continues an existing story as a season split into two arcs.

Series Story and format Release detail established by the sources
Dragon Ball DAIMA A new Dragon Ball story in which Goku and friends are turned small and drawn into an adventure in the Demon Realm. Toei announced a subtitled Crunchyroll start on October 11, 2024, in the listed territories, followed by weekly subtitled simulcasts with the Japanese TV broadcast.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 A continuation structured as two eight-episode arcs. The official Japanese site dates the first arc from October 2, 2024, and the second from February 5, 2025. These are Japanese schedule details, not a global Crunchyroll timetable.

Is Dragon Ball DAIMA on Crunchyroll?

Toei Animation’s September 12, 2024 streaming announcement said subtitled episodes would begin on Crunchyroll on October 11 in the United States, Canada, Latin America, including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. It then specified weekly subtitled episodes simulcast with the Japanese TV broadcast.

That announcement establishes the planned launch for those markets at that time; it does not establish present-day catalog availability or cover every country. Check Crunchyroll’s current regional listing to see whether the series is available where you are and which language options are offered.

What is Dragon Ball DAIMA about?

Toei describes DAIMA as an original series based on a new Dragon Ball story, with character designs by Akira Toriyama. Its premise is that a conspiracy turns Goku and his friends small, leading Goku, Supreme Kai, and new characters Glorio and Panzy into the Demon Realm. The setup offers a new adventure centered on familiar Dragon Ball characters rather than a season of Re:ZERO.

Toei’s 2024 press release also says the Dragon Ball manga began serialization in 1984 and that the franchise “has sold an astounding 260 million copies worldwide and counting.” That is Toei’s stated franchise figure in that release, not an independently audited count or a measure of DAIMA viewership.

How many episodes are in Re:ZERO Season 3?

The official Japanese Season 3 schedule divides the season into two arcs, 襲撃編 and 反撃編, with eight episodes in each. The first arc began in Japan on October 2, 2024, with an expanded 90-minute first episode. The second arc began on February 5, 2025.

The same site lists an October 2 advance stream on ABEMA and d Anime Store in Japan, along with later Japanese broadcast and service timings. Those platform and schedule details are territory-specific; they should not be read as a worldwide Crunchyroll release schedule. For viewing outside Japan, consult the current listings for your country and the platforms available there.
