Nina dies during her attempt to reach Princess Ilana; the Bride later confronts Ilana and shoots her. Back at Belle Reve, Amanda Waller offers the Bride command of a new team, while the end-credits scene confirms Eric Frankenstein survived.
What happens in Creature Commandos episode 7?
The season-one finale, “A Very Funny Monster,” centers on a mission to kill Princess Ilana in Pokolistan. The plan relies on Nina Mazursky swimming unseen into the water where Ilana is bathing. Nina is reluctant to kill, and a childhood flashback gives that hesitation its emotional force: her father tried to help her live with her unusual body, even as others treated her as a danger or spectacle.
The mission turns that history into a tragedy. Weasel alerts Ilana to Nina’s approach, and Nina is exposed before she can complete the assassination. Ilana kills Nina in the ensuing struggle.
Why does the team think Circe’s warning was wrong?
The team’s confidence in its intelligence shifts when Waller relays that Clayface impersonated Professor MacPherson. That revelation appears to undermine Circe’s warning about Ilana and leaves the team uncertain about whether Ilana is truly a threat.

The Bride later explains that she saw Ilana with Clayface. She realizes that the deception around MacPherson was part of Ilana’s scheme, rather than proof that Circe’s warning was false. After Nina’s death, the Bride confronts Ilana. Ilana admits her role and reaches for a gun; the Bride shoots her.
Does Nina die, and who kills Princess Ilana?
Yes. Nina dies after Weasel alerts Ilana to her approach and Ilana kills her in the struggle. The Bride kills Princess Ilana after connecting her to Clayface’s impersonation of Professor MacPherson and concluding that Ilana manipulated the events that cast doubt on Circe’s warning. Nina’s death makes the confrontation personal for the Bride as well as a response to the threat.

Is there a post-credits scene? Does Eric Frankenstein survive?
Yes. The end-credits scene shows Eric Frankenstein alive and receiving care from an elderly woman. The scene confirms he survived the Bride’s gunfire. Its joke is that he continues to interpret her violence as evidence of affection; what he does next remains unknown.
How does the finale connect to James Gunn’s DC Universe?
DC describes Creature Commandos as a series based on DC characters and credits James Gunn as its writer and executive producer. The finale’s clearest forward-looking connection is its proposed new team under the Bride, alongside Eric Frankenstein’s survival.
