Crave’s expansion adds a large range of programming, but “free” means a limited, ad-supported selection—not the full Crave catalogue. Bell Media said on November 26, 2025, that the service was adding more than 10,000 hours and growing its content portfolio by 30%; those are the company’s figures. Some of the programming is available with a free Bell Media account, while premium series, originals and other content require a paid Crave plan. Bell Media’s announcement describes the expansion and its access tiers.
What does Crave’s free account include?
Bell Media describes a free account as ad-supported access to a selection of programming, including recent episodes of selected CTV and Noovo shows, along with titles from CTV Throwback and CTV Movies. It is not a free pass to everything on Crave.
That distinction matters because the expansion also includes premium programming and other categories—such as Crave Originals, HBO and Max Originals, live news, selected sports and entertainment events, and a larger children’s library. Bell Media’s announcement does not say that these are all included with a free account. Check the access details shown for a specific title in Crave, since catalogue availability can change.
Free account, paid plan and live TV: what’s the difference?
| Viewing option | What it means | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Free Bell Media account | Ad-supported access to selected programming, including examples from CTV, Noovo, CTV Throwback and CTV Movies. | It does not unlock the full Crave catalogue. |
| Ad-supported Crave subscription | A paid Crave plan with its own plan-specific access. | It is not the same as a free account. Crave support says ad-supported plans do not include live channels in the Live TV section. Crave explains the “Ways to Watch” message. |
| Premium Crave subscription | A paid plan that provides broader premium access, subject to its current terms and catalogue. | Do not assume every live channel or separate service is included; check the plan and title details. |
Bell Media said the 2025 expansion would come at no additional cost to existing subscribers. Its announcement listed then-current starting prices of $11.99 for Crave Standard With Ads and $22 for Crave Premium, but those are historical prices, not a current quote. Subscription prices and plan details can change; consult Crave’s subscription page before signing up.

How much new content is being added?
Bell Media announced more than 10,000 additional hours and a 30% increase in Crave’s content portfolio in November 2025. These are Bell Media’s reported figures, not independently measured estimates. The announcement describes an expansion spanning entertainment, children’s programming, live news and selected sports, alongside the limited free-account selection.
The company’s later 2026/27 slate announcement points to more new and returning programming across CTV and Crave. Planned additions include the civilian edition of The Traitors, Newlyweds and Doc; Crave-exclusive premieres such as American Hostage, Up to No Good, Crystal Lake and The Good Daughter; and returning series including Grey’s Anatomy, Tracker and 9-1-1: Nashville. The slate also names returning Bell Media originals such as Sullivan’s Crossing, The Traitors Canada, MasterChef Canada, Canada’s Drag Race, Shoresy and Heated Rivalry. These are scheduled programming plans and may change. See Bell Media’s 2026/27 slate announcement for its full lineup.

Bell Media says CTV series in the slate are available to Crave subscribers on the live CTV channel and on demand the following day. That describes the announced programming arrangement; verify current availability in Crave. NFL and CFL coverage are also named in the slate, but Bell Media said TSN and RDS remain separate subscriptions. A Crave subscription should not be treated as including either service.
What else is coming to Crave?
In May 2026, Bell Media described Crave’s Sports and News hubs and said selected English- and French-language video podcasts, including titles from iHeartRadio Canada, would be added. The announcement did not name the podcast titles, so viewers should check Crave for what is available rather than assume a particular show is included. Bell Media’s announcement outlines the hubs and planned podcast additions.
