The timing marked 25 years since Coyote Ugly was released in August 2000. The film follows Violet, played by Perabo, a small-town singer who leaves New Jersey for New York to pursue music and takes a job at the Coyote Ugly bar. Warren, who attended, wrote original songs for the film, according to Parade.
What did Tyra Banks and Melanie Lynskey say?
Banks described the reunion in an Instagram message quoted by Us Weekly: “Last night’s anniversary reunion was magical, wild, hilarious and deeply touching — just like the movie itself.” Her use of “wild” referred to the gathering and the film, not to a new project announcement.
During the panel, Lynskey joked about a common misconception: “Everybody thinks I was dancing on the bar, and I’m so grateful I wasn’t.” She added, “I am very grateful I was just there going, ‘You go, Violet!’”
Banks told Us Weekly that she agreed to moderate at the last minute. “At the last minute I agreed to moderate. In the car I’m like, ‘What am I going do?’” she recalled, adding, “It was fun.” She also said much of her time with the cast had been spent in rehearsal.
