Why was $1 million at stake?
Tran had landed on the One Million wedge during regular play, which made a million-dollar envelope a possible Bonus Round prize. She reached the Bonus Round but did not solve its puzzle before time expired, so she did not win the million. Global News reported host Ryan Seacrest telling her, “You were so close to that million dollars. You almost had it.” The episode recap identifies Tran as the night’s overall winner; that result is distinct from winning the Bonus Round’s million-dollar prize.
