Possibly, as a hypothetical casting choice—but there is no confirmation in the sources reviewed that Sydney Sweeney has been offered, approached for, auditioned for, or cast as Catwoman. The question also depends on which Batman continuity “next Catwoman” means: Matt Reeves’ separate Batman films or DC’s shared universe.
Has Sydney Sweeney been cast as Catwoman?
No confirmed casting, offer, or audition is established by the sources reviewed. DC’s official film listings and its August 11, 2025 overview of upcoming projects do not identify Sweeney as Catwoman. A Variety interview published October 28, 2025, discusses her career and casting experiences but does not report a Catwoman connection. Those sources do not establish that private conversations never occurred; they simply provide no basis for reporting her attachment to the role.
That distinction matters: confirmed casting, reported negotiations, fan casting, and a writer’s prediction are different things. At present, Sweeney-as-Catwoman belongs in the hypothetical or fan-casting category, not in a casting-news headline presented as fact.
Which Batman continuity would “the next Catwoman” mean?
There is no single answer without naming the adaptation. Warner Bros. Discovery’s January 31, 2023 announcement distinguishes the interconnected DC Universe slate from Matt Reeves’ separate Batman sequel. Those are different story tracks, and a Catwoman casting for one would not automatically apply to the other. The official slate clarifies the continuity distinction; it does not provide a Catwoman shortlist.

DC identifies Selina Kyle as Catwoman and has documented a Catwoman-centered animated adaptation, but that character history does not point to a particular live-action casting decision. The question is therefore not only whether Sweeney could play Catwoman, but which version of the character and which Batman story a hypothetical casting would serve.
Could Sweeney fit the role?
That is an opinion, not evidence of studio interest or casting likelihood. A meaningful assessment would depend on the adaptation’s characterization and on factors such as dramatic range, physical performance, and chemistry with the Batman in that continuity. The sources reviewed do not assess those criteria in relation to Sweeney and Catwoman, so they cannot support a grounded prediction or probability estimate.

Appearance, public profile, or popularity alone cannot show that an actor is being considered. Without a relevant performance comparison or a statement from Sweeney or a DC decision-maker linking her to the role, a strong fit argument would be speculation rather than reporting.
