There was no confirmed announcement that the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy finale would appear at an Ever Crisis anniversary event. The speculation began with a different kind of clue: a new Ultimate Weapon design shown in an Ever Crisis event trailer. GamesRadar suggested the design might also be used in the trilogy’s final game, while noting Square Enix could choose not to reuse it or could change it during development.
What sparked speculation about a Remake trilogy reveal?
In February 2026, GamesRadar reported on a trailer for FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS’s Weapon Showdown: Battle for the Planet event. The trailer showed a new design for Ultimate Weapon. GamesRadar floated the possibility that this version could also appear in the final Remake trilogy game, but the trailer itself was evidence of an Ever Crisis design—not an announcement about the other game. GamesRadar’s report explicitly left open the possibility that Square Enix would not reuse the design or would alter it during development.
What did the Ever Crisis anniversary announcement actually confirm?
In a producer letter dated July 8, 2026, Shoichi Ichikawa said Ever Crisis would receive the final chapter of its own FINAL FANTASY VII saga on September 6, 2026 PDT, the game’s three-year anniversary. Ichikawa wrote: “On Sep. 6, 2026, PDT, the three-year anniversary of the game’s launch, we’ll be releasing the final chapter of the FINAL FANTASY VII saga.” The statement is about Ever Crisis’s story, not a preview or reveal of the Remake trilogy finale. The letter also announced that Ever Crisis service would end October 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT. Read the producer letter from Square Enix.
Which game is the Remake trilogy finale?
Square Enix’s series page lists FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION alongside Rebirth and Remake in its series navigation. Square Enix’s series page establishes the title’s place in the series navigation, but does not, in the material cited here, announce an anniversary-event appearance. PC Gamer identified Revelation as the third and final entry in the trilogy and reported a Spring 2027 release window on June 5, 2026. That final-entry description and timing are secondary reporting, not a release announcement from Square Enix. Read PC Gamer’s report.
