Monthly energy cost = measured average watts ÷ 1,000 × operating hours × your electricity rate per kWh.
For a full month, use your actual streaming hours; the example uses 720. Add hardware depreciation, UPS or inverter costs, and any broadband upgrade only if they apply to you. Free encoder software does not remove these operating costs.

Choose based on whether the broadcast is prerecorded or interactive
Use a PC when the stream is genuinely live
A cloud playout service sends uploaded recordings; it cannot sing, speak, respond to viewers, or broadcast a live camera and microphone feed for you. A home PC makes sense when those real-time elements matter, or when you need studio tools such as overlays. Keep YouTube’s stream settings and connection in view
Either a PC encoder or a cloud playout service must send a stable stream to YouTube. YouTube recommends choosing a quality that is reliable on the available connection, testing upload bitrate, testing before going live and monitoring stream health. For H.264, YouTube’s recommended bitrate is 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 12 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps. Its guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, H.265 and AV1, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended two-second keyframe interval. These are technical reference settings, not a requirement to push every bhajan stream at the highest bitrate: choose a bitrate your outbound connection can sustain. A mostly static devotional visual may not need high-motion settings.

Server URL and stream key
YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP. In your encoder or playout setup, use the YouTube Live server URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s live-stream setup. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your channel. Enter it only in the encoder or service you intend to use.
Enable live streaming and test first
Check that live streaming is enabled for your YouTube channel before scheduling a continuous broadcast; first-time enablement can take time. Test the complete path before depending on it, then watch YouTube’s stream health indicator.
