For repeating just one passage, optional third-party loopers offer features such as A–B markers and playback-speed controls. A free looper is not the same as a free trial; YouTube Premium trials are conditional, require a payment method, and normally renew as paid memberships unless canceled before the trial ends.
Which option should you use?
- Repeat a whole video or playlist: Start with YouTube’s built-in Loop control. It requires no separate service or paid membership.
- Repeat only a passage: Consider a third-party tool that explicitly offers A–B looping. LoopTube.io lists segment repeat and speed controls; those are provider-described features, not independently tested here.
- Want a trial and broader paid benefits: Check whether YouTube Premium offers your account a trial and read the checkout terms. Premium is not required for looping.

How to loop a video or playlist on YouTube
YouTube Help documents repeat controls for computers and mobile devices, and for TVs and consoles. Because interface labels and layouts can change, follow the current device-specific instructions on YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists.
Loop an individual video
On a computer or mobile device, open the video player’s context menu and choose the loop option. On a TV or console, use the Repeat control in playback settings. The control repeats the whole video, not a selected passage.
Loop a playlist
Start the playlist, then use its playlist repeat control. Check the current help instructions for your device if you do not see the control in the same place.

When a third-party looper is useful
A separate tool is most useful when you need something beyond whole-video repeat—for example, repeating a language-learning sentence, a musical phrase, a sports technique, or a short section of a documentary. Check whether the tool lets you set both the start and end points, adjust speed, and retain the selected loop. The cited description of those functions applies to LoopTube.io, not to every looper.
Embedding can also affect playback. TubeRepeat says a video whose uploader has disabled embedding may only play on YouTube.com. If a third-party page will not play the video, try YouTube’s own player and controls instead.

Does YouTube Premium have a free trial and no annual contract?
YouTube says trial availability depends on eligibility, the offer can vary in length, and signup requests a payment method. At the end of an eligible trial, the membership renews at the then-current monthly price unless you cancel before the trial ends. Eligibility can depend on membership history and how often you have used a trial; check the offer shown to your signed-in account. Keep the distinction clear: the cited third-party loopers describe free tools, not time-limited trials. Premium is a separate paid membership with conditional trial offers, not a prerequisite for YouTube’s repeat control.
A practical way to choose
- For whole-video or playlist repeat: Use YouTube’s built-in control.
- For a passage: Choose a tool that explicitly lists A–B markers; confirm it also has any speed or saved-loop feature you need.
- For no separate account: LoopTube.co and TubeRepeat describe themselves as requiring no account; this is based on their own published descriptions.
- For a browser extension: Review the current store listing and permissions before installing; an old listing update date is not a reliability guarantee.
- For a paid trial: Verify your own account’s offer, trial end date, renewal price and billing period, plus how to cancel, before entering payment details.
