“Yellow” is Coldplay’s most popular song by reported lifetime Spotify streams. The August 11, 2026 snapshot also places “Something Just Like This,” the band’s collaboration with The Chainsmokers, above “Viva La Vida.” Here is the complete top 10, with the methodology and collaboration caveats explained.
By reported lifetime Spotify streams, “Yellow” is Coldplay’s most popular song. The band’s 2000 breakthrough leads a ranking that includes early-2000s classics, stadium-sized singles from the 2010s, and one major collaboration: “Something Just Like This” with The Chainsmokers.
The list below uses the lifetime Spotify stream totals reported by Kworb’s Coldplay Spotify Top Songs table, with the same leading totals cross-checked against ChartMasters. The snapshot was last updated August 11, 2026, so the numbers—and potentially the order near the middle of the list—will continue to change.

1. “Yellow”
Reported streams: 3,912,233,334 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,760,730
“Yellow” is the clear leader in Coldplay’s Spotify catalog. Released on June 26, 2000, as part of Parachutes, it remains the band’s defining gateway song: intimate enough to feel personal, but broad enough to work as a modern rock anthem.
Its lead is notable because it is not simply benefiting from being a recent streaming-era single. “Yellow” has accumulated its total across more than two decades of catalog listening. Spotify’s own 20th-anniversary retrospective also placed the song among the platform’s 20 most-streamed songs globally as of April 2026, at number 15.
2. “Something Just Like This”
Reported streams: 3,733,585,745 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,102,551
“Something Just Like This” is credited to The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, making it the only collaboration in this top 10. Released as a collaboration single rather than a Coldplay-only track, it combines The Chainsmokers’ electronic-pop production with Coldplay’s arena-ready vocal and melodic style.
Its inclusion depends on the definition of the list. Coldplay is explicitly credited on the song, and the track appears in Coldplay’s artist-level Spotify song table, so it belongs in a ranking of tracks credited to Coldplay. It should not, however, be described as a Coldplay-only recording.
3. “Viva La Vida”
Reported streams: 3,463,960,415 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,720,572
“Viva La Vida” is Coldplay’s second-highest solo track in the snapshot. Released on June 12, 2008, it served as the centerpiece of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends and helped demonstrate how far the band had moved beyond the guitar-led sound of its early records.
The song’s orchestral texture, prominent strings, and instantly recognizable refrain have given it unusually strong long-term catalog appeal. Its reported daily figure is also close to “Yellow’s,” despite the song ranking lower in cumulative streams.
4. “The Scientist”
Reported streams: 2,956,512,350 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,080,997

Released on November 4, 2002, from A Rush of Blood to the Head, “The Scientist” is the highest-ranked song from Coldplay’s early-2000s period. Its restrained piano arrangement and emotionally direct writing have made it one of the band’s most durable songs, even without the production scale of some later hits.
Nearly three billion reported Spotify streams underline the staying power of Coldplay’s second-album era. The song remains a major listening choice for fans discovering the band through its ballads rather than its festival-sized singles.

5. “A Sky Full of Stars”
Reported streams: 2,435,434,053 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,036,658
“A Sky Full of Stars,” released on May 2, 2014, is the biggest Ghost Stories track in this ranking. Its electronic dance-pop construction marked one of Coldplay’s clearest crossover moments, pairing the band’s melodic core with a more polished, club-oriented sound.
The song’s position shows how effectively Coldplay translated its emotional style into the streaming era. It is both a catalog favorite and an accessible entry point for listeners who may know the band through contemporary pop playlists.
6. “Fix You”
Reported streams: 2,183,829,446 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 765,154
Recommended Free Tools
Released on September 5, 2005, from X&Y, “Fix You” is one of Coldplay’s most enduring slow-building songs. It begins with a sparse, vulnerable arrangement and gradually expands into the kind of communal climax that has made it a concert staple.
Its sixth-place position is extremely close to the next entry: “Fix You” leads “Sparks” by only 1,306,939 reported streams. That gap is small enough that the order could change as the songs continue to accumulate plays.
7. “Sparks”
Reported streams: 2,182,522,507 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 1,370,337
“Sparks” is the second Parachutes song in the top 10, following “Yellow.” Its reported cumulative total is just below “Fix You,” but its daily figure in the snapshot is considerably higher, suggesting particularly strong current catalog activity.

The song also illustrates why Spotify’s visible artist-page display should not be confused with an all-time stream ranking. When crawled, Spotify’s public artist embed placed “Sparks” third among Coldplay’s Top tracks, even though the lifetime table placed it seventh.
8. “Hymn for the Weekend”
Reported streams: 2,001,208,352 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 648,410
“Hymn for the Weekend,” released on January 25, 2016, comes from A Head Full of Dreams. It is one of Coldplay’s largest streaming-era songs, passing the two-billion mark in the reported snapshot.
Compared with the older tracks near the top, its place reflects the scale of Coldplay’s later global pop audience. It also gives A Head Full of Dreams two entries in the ranking, alongside “Adventure of a Lifetime.”

Reported streams: 1,932,928,430 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 707,588
Released on September 12, 2011, from Mylo Xyloto, “Paradise” remains inside the top 10 more than a decade after its release. Its expansive chorus and bright, stadium-focused production made it a natural fit for both radio and playlist listening.
Its ranking is a reminder that Coldplay’s streaming strength is spread across several eras. The band does not depend solely on its newest material or on one breakthrough album.
10. “Adventure of a Lifetime”
Reported streams: 1,677,174,368 | Daily streams in the snapshot: 899,495
“Adventure of a Lifetime,” released on November 6, 2015, is the final entry in the top 10. The A Head Full of Dreams single has a lower lifetime total than “Paradise,” but its reported daily figure is comparatively strong—higher than “Hymn for the Weekend” and “Paradise” in this snapshot.
That combination of a tenth-place cumulative position and substantial daily activity suggests that the song continues to perform strongly as a catalog track. It may also be one of the entries most likely to move upward over time.

Why Spotify’s Top tracks display shows a different order
Spotify’s public artist page does not provide a complete, stable, downloadable table of all-time stream totals. Instead, it displays a changing Top tracks selection. The Coldplay embed observed for this research listed “Yellow,” “Viva La Vida,” “Sparks,” “Something Just Like This,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” “The Scientist,” “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Clocks,” “Fix You,” and “Paradise” in that order.
That is different from the lifetime-stream ranking above. In particular, “Something Just Like This” is second by reported cumulative streams but appeared fourth in the visible display, while “Sparks” appeared third despite ranking seventh by lifetime total. The safest interpretation is that Spotify’s visible display reflects current popularity and recommendation signals rather than a direct sort of the all-time totals. Spotify does not publicly document enough of the underlying ranking method to establish more than that.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat changes if collaborations are excluded?
If the question is restricted to songs where Coldplay is the lead artist, remove “Something Just Like This.” In that version of the list, “Clocks” becomes the replacement entry at number 10. The collaboration should remain in the main ranking because Coldplay is an explicit credited artist, but labeling it clearly avoids implying that it is a Coldplay-only release.
What this ranking says about Coldplay’s catalog
The 10 songs span the band’s career rather than clustering around one period:
- Parachutes contributes “Yellow” and “Sparks.”
- A Rush of Blood to the Head contributes “The Scientist.”
- X&Y contributes “Fix You.”
- Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends contributes “Viva La Vida.”
- Mylo Xyloto contributes “Paradise.”
- Ghost Stories contributes “A Sky Full of Stars.”
- A Head Full of Dreams contributes “Hymn for the Weekend” and “Adventure of a Lifetime.”
That distribution suggests sustained catalog listening across multiple Coldplay eras, not dependence on only recent releases. It is an inference from the reported stream totals and the songs’ album contexts, rather than a separate Spotify finding.
Own the albums behind the songs
For listeners who want more than individual streams, the albums represented here are available in physical formats that may include vinyl editions. Relevant records include Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Ghost Stories, X&Y, Mylo Xyloto, and A Head Full of Dreams. Browse current Coldplay vinyl listings carefully: pressing, format, seller, price, stock, and regional availability can change, and a particular edition should not be assumed to be identical to another listing.
How this ranking was calculated
- Metric: reported lifetime Spotify streams for individual track recordings.
- Snapshot date: August 11, 2026.
- Primary numerical reference: Kworb’s Coldplay Spotify Top Songs table.
- Cross-check: ChartMasters’ release-to-date Spotify totals for leading tracks.
- Not included: monthly listeners, editorial playlist placement, chart peaks, critical reputation, or a subjective assessment of song quality.
Totals can differ between services and tracker entries because of track versions, regional availability, reissues, and artist-credit conventions. Daily figures document the snapshot only; they should not be projected as an exact future growth rate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Spotify’s official ranking of Coldplay’s best songs?
This ranking uses reported lifetime Spotify streams for specific track entries, based on a Kworb snapshot cross-checked against ChartMasters. It is not a ranking of Spotify’s editorial favorites, monthly listeners, chart performance, or the writer’s opinion.
Why is “Something Just Like This” included?
Yes, if the list includes tracks for which Coldplay is an explicitly credited artist. “Something Just Like This” is credited to The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, so it is included as a collaboration. A Coldplay-lead-artist-only list would remove it and add “Clocks.”
Why does Spotify show a different order?
Spotify’s public artist page shows a changing Top tracks selection, not a complete, stable table of all-time stream totals. Its visible order can therefore differ from a cumulative lifetime-stream ranking.

Will these rankings stay the same?
The totals are a dated snapshot from August 11, 2026. Streams continue to accumulate, and close positions—especially “Fix You” and “Sparks”—may change.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: “Yellow” is Coldplay’s biggest song by reported lifetime Spotify streams, followed by the Coldplay–Chainsmokers collaboration “Something Just Like This” and “Viva La Vida.” Because Spotify’s visible Top tracks display is not a stable all-time stream table, this ranking should be read as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent order.
