That plan was reported by the Los Angeles Times on May 25, 2025, based on unnamed sources familiar with an agreement that had not been announced. Moonbug declined to comment, and the reviewed official materials do not independently confirm the streaming deal. An exact launch date and the countries where it will be available have not been established.
What the reported Disney+ deal means
The Los Angeles Times report says Disney+ secured exclusive streaming rights to CoComelon beginning in 2027 and is expected to carry every season. The report attributed those details to unnamed people familiar with the agreement; it also said the deal had not been announced and Moonbug declined to comment. Treat the move as reported, not as a confirmed Disney+ or Moonbug announcement.
The report does not establish an exact premiere date, territory-by-territory availability, or when the series might leave Netflix. It also does not say that every CoComelon spin-off will move with the main series. The claim about “every season” concerns the series itself.
Where CoComelon is available now—and what may change
CoComelon has a substantial Netflix history. In 2021, Netflix and Moonbug announced a global slate of new CoComelon programming beginning in 2022, including three seasons of CoComelon Lane. Netflix’s current listing describes CoComelon as a TV-Y children’s series focused on music and early learning, but a live listing does not establish how long it will remain there.

The Los Angeles Times report says Moonbug will continue posting CoComelon videos on YouTube. That would mean a reported Disney+ move need not mean the franchise disappears from YouTube; it does not, however, establish that every episode or season will be available there. The report also does not provide a schedule for any Netflix removal.
Moonbug describes the series as “a children’s series designed to teach life skills through music.” Its May 14, 2026 announcement says the franchise is available in more than 20 languages and receives more than 4 billion average monthly YouTube views; those are company-published figures, not independently audited counts. Moonbug also identifies related projects including CoComelon Lane, The Melon Patch, CoComelon Playdates with Sanrio Friends, Cody Time, Nina’s Familia, and JJ’s Animal Time. The streaming report does not specify whether any of these spin-offs are covered by the reported rights deal.

CoComelon: The Movie is a separate theatrical release
The reported Disney+ streaming move should not be confused with CoComelon: The Movie. Moonbug announced the film on May 14, 2026, with a February 2027 theatrical release, and the official movie page says “Only in Theaters.” The film follows JJ and his friends as they start kindergarten; after JJ discovers his stuffed bear Boba is missing, their adventure begins. Moonbug names Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios, and DreamWorks Animation as producers, DNEG Group as the animation provider, and Universal Pictures as distributor. The reviewed sources do not establish a later streaming window for the movie.
