Clint Howard described his guest stint on The Bold and the Beautiful as “exhilarating,” in part because of the daytime drama’s brisk pace. In a PEOPLE interview excerpt syndicated by Yahoo, he also recalled the preparation required to handle a large number of scenes and lines.
Howard played Tom, a mysterious homeless man
The report identifies Howard’s character as Tom, a mysterious homeless man, and says he appeared opposite Sean Kanan and Tanner Novlan. It does not give the episode dates or numbers for his appearance.
He connected the exhilaration to the show’s pace
Howard said filming was “exhilarating” and linked that feeling partly to how quickly the production moves. He described receiving many scenes and potentially substantial dialogue, work that requires actors to learn the lines, understand them, and deliver them.
“You’re handed a lot of scenes to do and you’d better be prepared,” Howard said in the excerpt, speaking to PEOPLE.

Preparation was a lesson from childhood
Howard said his parents, Rance and Jean Howard, taught him early that being prepared to work was his responsibility. He recalled: “I was taught by both my mom and dad, Rance and Jean Howard, since I was a little kid that my primary responsibility is to be prepared to show up to work, even as a very young child…”
