Kaia has said that watching her mother work influenced her: “I saw how hard my mom worked, and the life that she made for herself through this career, and that really inspired me.” In 2018, she described the distinction between her mother’s public identity and home life to British Vogue: “Cindy Crawford (the supermodel) wasn’t my mom – she did a really good job of separating her work and home life.” Kaia’s work has extended beyond modeling to acting.
The mother and daughter have continued to work together in fashion. A 2025 Vogue interview covered their shared work and a Vuori family campaign; the magazine also reported that the Gerbers had invested in the company.

The Associated Press reported on September 21, 2026, that Presley died at age 27. At the time of publication, the medical examiner had not determined a cause. AP said police were investigating a suspected overdose; that is an investigative lead, not a confirmed cause of death.
AP also reported that Presley had spoken publicly about mental-health and substance-use struggles. Those details do not establish why he died. His family’s representative, Allie Jenkins, told AP: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
