Ciao Dandy opened at Karrinyup Shopping Centre’s West Deck on 6 December 2024, taking over the former Dandelion restaurant for what was announced as a limited summer season. The Italian kitchen and spritz bar is still listed at the centre; its current listing gives daily hours of 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, though diners should check the live listing before visiting.
What is Ciao Dandy?
Ciao Dandy is a coastal Italian-style restaurant and spritz bar at Karrinyup Shopping Centre in Perth. The concept brought together seafood, handmade pasta and shareable dishes with a spritz and cocktail menu. Parker Group describes the venue as offering event spaces as well as dining.
The opening was announced as a limited-season takeover of Dandelion. That describes the launch plan in December 2024, not a confirmed closing date: Ciao Dandy remains identified by the centre and venue’s current listings.
What was on the launch menu?
For the December 2024 launch, Parker Group head of culinary Brendan Pratt and Dandelion head chef Matthew Payne developed a menu inspired by coastal Italy. PerthNow’s 5 December 2024 report highlighted tiger prawns poached in tomato sugo with fresh herbs, handmade pastas, local octopus and tiramisu cannoli.

Pratt said he was “super excited to cook fresh, approachable, delicious food, inspired by coastal Italian dishes for Perth diners this summer,” according to PerthNow’s launch coverage.
Those dishes are launch-period examples, not a promise about today’s menu. Ciao Dandy’s official menu describes fresh seafood, handmade pasta and shareable bites, and notes that the menus are samples subject to change. Diners with dietary requirements are asked to give prior notice. Check the current menu before choosing a particular dish.

What spritzes and cocktails were featured?
Elise Godwin, the distiller behind Dandelion’s Fine and Dandy spirit brand, created the spritz list and cocktail menu reported at launch. Named examples included Eat, Pray, Aperol, made with Aperol and passionfruit; Chillo Limoncello; and a Pink Gin Spritz using Fine and Dandy berry gin.
Godwin described the berry gin in the Pink Gin Spritz as made in-house and praised its fruit-derived sweetness in PerthNow’s report. That was her promotional opinion, not an independently verified comparison with other pink gins. The launch report does not establish whether these named drinks remain on the current list.

Where is Ciao Dandy, and when is it open?
Ciao Dandy is on the West Deck at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, 200 Karrinyup Road, Karrinyup WA 6018. The centre currently displays daily trading hours of 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, while the venue site says it is open seven days. Hours can change, so confirm them with the venue or centre before setting out.
