His family had not disclosed a cause of death in the contemporaneous reporting reviewed.
What is confirmed about Chase Pistone’s death?
The obituary identifies Pistone as a Mooresville, North Carolina, resident who was born in Charlotte on August 20, 1983. It records his death on March 2, 2026, at 42. United Press International reported on March 3 that his family announced the death but did not disclose a cause.
That means there is no confirmed public cause of death to report. Social-media speculation or the appearance of crisis-support information in racing coverage does not establish one.
His NASCAR and racing career
Pistone competed across several forms of stock-car racing. UPI reported that he made 10 NASCAR national-series starts between 2005 and 2014 and recorded one Truck Series top-10 finish. The report also said he competed in ARCA.

Driving, crew-chief and ownership roles
Pistone’s work extended beyond the driver’s seat. His obituary says he owned CPinc and worked as a driver, crew chief and team owner. The sources describe a varied racing career rather than a record of major-series championships or a large win total.

Family and the Pistone racing name
The obituary says fatherhood was Pistone’s greatest joy and names his sons, Carter and Cameron. UPI reported a statement from his brother Nick Pistone: “Well, my young brother and best friend is gone.” The quotation is attributed to UPI’s report; the original social-media post was not independently accessed.
Chase Pistone was also part of a well-known racing family. NASCAR identified him as the grandson of “Tiger” Tom Pistone, whom it described as a two-time winner in NASCAR’s premier series. That record belongs to his grandfather and should not be confused with Chase Pistone’s own results.
