The official anime character page calls him Samurai Sword; the story’s revenge conflict explains why he targets Denji.
Who is Katana Man in Chainsaw Man?
The official anime character profile identifies him as Samurai Sword (サムライソード) and says he is the grandson of the yakuza who employed Denji. “Katana Man” is a widely used descriptive name for the same character. The profile credits Daiki Hamano as his Japanese voice actor, but does not provide a civilian name.
Why does he oppose Denji?
Spoilers for the Katana Man storyline: A secondary character reference describes Samurai Sword as a human-devil hybrid associated with the Katana Devil. It says he seeks revenge because Denji killed his grandfather and acts alongside Akane Sawatari. These are story details reported by that reference; the official anime profile confirms the family connection, but not the revenge explanation or hybrid description.
Where does the Katana Man storyline appear?
The official anime episode catalog lists episode 8, “Gunshot,” and episode 12, “Japanese Sword VS Chainsaw.” A secondary arc guide maps the Katana Man arc to anime episodes 8–12 and manga chapters 23–38. Those chapter boundaries are the guide’s convention for the arc, not necessarily printed chapter headings.
