Chad Powers Season 2 is officially renewed and scheduled to premiere Thursday, September 3, 2026. Hulu plans to release all six episodes at once in the United States, while Disney+ will carry the complete season internationally. The new season follows Russ Holliday as his Chad Powers disguise becomes a public success—and much harder to protect.
What is Chad Powers Season 2 about?
Season 2 moves Russ Holliday’s disguise from an underdog experiment into a dangerous winning formula. Chad is now a star on the field, but his strange behavior away from football begins drawing suspicion from Coach Jake Hudson and Gerry.
Ricky now knows that Chad is really Russ. Russ and Danny therefore need her help to keep the deception alive as the South Georgia Catfish attempt to survive the regular season and reach the College Football Playoff.

That is the complete confirmed setup. The official synopsis does not reveal whether Russ remains undercover, whether Ricky exposes him, or whether the Catfish actually reach the playoff. Any prediction about those outcomes is speculation.
How Season 2 continues the Season 1 cliffhanger
Season 1 introduced Russ as a former hotshot college quarterback whose career collapsed after a series of damaging behavior. Using prosthetics and the identity of Chad Powers, he walked onto the struggling South Georgia Catfish in an attempt to earn another chance.
Danny helped Russ maintain the disguise, while Ricky became increasingly important to him both personally and within the team’s wider story. The Season 1 finale ended with Ricky discovering Chad’s true identity while Russ was still playing under the disguise. The secret was not exposed to the entire team, leaving the central conflict unresolved.
That gives Season 2 several possible sources of pressure: Ricky could expose Russ and endanger the football program, protect him temporarily, or force him to confront the consequences of building a second career on a lie. Those are reasonable story possibilities, but none has been confirmed by the official Season 2 material.
Season 2 release date and streaming details
| Region | Platform | Release plan |
|---|---|---|
| United States | Hulu | All six episodes scheduled to arrive Thursday, September 3, 2026 |
| International markets | Disney+ | The full season scheduled to arrive on the same premiere date, subject to local catalog availability |
The release pattern is different from Season 1. The first season premiered on September 30, 2025, with two episodes at launch followed by weekly Tuesday releases. That schedule should not be applied to Season 2: the latest official announcement specifically says that all six new episodes will be available at once.
Because international availability can vary by country, viewers outside the United States should check their local Disney+ catalog closer to the premiere.

Where the Chad Powers character came from
The character originated with Eli Manning’s real-world disguise in the ESPN+ series Eli’s Places. Manning went undercover as Chad Powers for a Penn State football walk-on tryout, creating the comic persona that later became the foundation for the scripted series.
The television show transforms that prank premise into the fictional story of Russ Holliday, a disgraced quarterback who uses prosthetics and a new identity to pursue another opportunity in college football. The series combines sports comedy with questions about redemption, identity, and the strain of maintaining a false persona as public attention increases.
That distinction matters: Manning’s undercover football experiment inspired Chad Powers, but the Season 2 storyline is a fictional continuation centered on Russ, Ricky, Danny, and the South Georgia Catfish.
