For a pre-recorded broadcast set up in Castr, the playlist limit is 2 files on Starter or Standard, 10 on Premium, and 15 on Ultra, according to Castr’s product page accessed October 3, 2026. These are Castr per-stream playlist limits—not a verified limit for playlists created directly on YouTube.
How many videos can you add to a Castr pre-recorded stream?

Castr’s current product page, accessed October 3, 2026, lists these playlist counts and durations. The counts apply to files in a single pre-recorded Castr stream playlist; they should not be read as the number of videos you can upload to YouTube or add to a native YouTube playlist. Castr also says storage, concurrent streams, and loop availability vary by subscription. Check Castr’s current plan details before subscribing, since limits can change and the published page does not establish a complete, durable plan-by-plan matrix for every limit.
What this limit covers—and what it does not
Castr’s pre-recorded streaming feature plays uploaded or imported video files as a live broadcast at a chosen time. Castr can deliver that broadcast to YouTube, but the files are part of the Castr stream setup. That is different from uploading an ordinary on-demand video to YouTube, where viewers start playback individually, or creating a playlist in YouTube itself.
The cited Castr information does not establish YouTube’s own video limit for a native YouTube playlist. If you meant a playlist created in YouTube Studio rather than a Castr pre-recorded broadcast, these Castr plan limits do not answer that question.

How Castr’s pre-recorded workflow works
Choose files and a destination
Castr’s Help Center article “How to Start Streaming Pre-recorded Videos,” published July 8, 2026, describes adding multiple videos to a pre-recorded playlist. It supports MP4 files, which you can upload from a computer or import from cloud storage. Castr says video size and media-file count depend on the subscription.
Choose a schedule or loop
Castr documents two scheduling modes: schedule a start date and time, or loop a playlist. Its Help Center article “Scheduling Modes In Castr Pre-recorded Live,” published April 24, 2026, says the scheduler uses the device’s time zone. Confirm that the device is set to the time zone you intend to use when scheduling a start.

Send the broadcast to YouTube
In this workflow, Castr plays the prepared file or playlist as a live feed and sends it to the selected destination. Castr’s product page says, “No encoder or live source is needed.” Its destination options and the number of destinations available depend on the plan; the documented options include YouTube, as well as other destinations.
What to check before choosing a plan
- Number of files: Compare your playlist size with the plan limits above.
- Duration per file: Castr lists different maximum file durations by tier. A playlist count that fits your plan may still include a file that exceeds its duration limit.
- Storage and file size: Castr says storage and media-file size limits depend on subscription. Confirm the current allowance for your account and files.
- Looping and concurrent streams: Availability and limits vary by plan. Check these if you need a playlist to repeat or need to run multiple pre-recorded broadcasts at once.
- Destinations: Confirm the destination count allowed by your plan if the same broadcast needs to go to more than one place.
Prepare the videos without confusing recommendations with requirements
Castr’s Help Center guide “Recommended Settings for Recorded Videos,” published December 18, 2023, recommends MP4, constant bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval, Full HD (1920×1080), 30 FPS, and 4,000 Kbps. Those are recommendations from that guide, not the playlist limit and not a requirement established by the newer setup article. Because the settings page dates from 2023, check Castr’s current guidance if encoding compatibility is critical to your broadcast.
