That offer is historical, not a current way to watch the series: Roku’s official account confirms the campaign but gives no end date, while a secondary report says the free window ended January 19, 2025.
What the Roku promotion included
Roku’s Q1 2025 shareholder letter says Apple and Roku made the entire first season of Severance available free without advertisements on The Roku Channel. The campaign was part of a Home Screen fan experience promoting Season 2. Roku said the experience also included a Season 2 preview, behind-the-scenes content, and an opportunity to receive three free months of Apple TV+.
The shareholder letter confirms that these elements were part of the campaign, but it does not spell out the trial’s eligibility, redemption steps, or other terms. It also does not state exactly when the free Season 1 stream began or ended. Roku Q1 2025 Shareholder Letter, filed with the SEC
Has the free offer ended?
Yes. A secondary report says the free-streaming window ended January 19, 2025. That precise date is not confirmed in Roku’s shareholder letter, so it should be treated as secondary reporting rather than an official Roku end date. The offer is not a current free-viewing option.

Roku’s general guidance says promotional offers are time-limited and that redemption details appear in each offer’s terms. It also notes that some offers may be limited to new users or eligible returning subscribers. Those general rules do not establish the specific terms of the expired Severance campaign. The Roku Channel and Apple TV are different
The promotion streamed Severance on The Roku Channel. It was not an offer through the separate Apple TV channel on Roku. Apple TV is Apple’s subscription service and app; having access to its channel on a Roku device does not revive the expired Roku Channel promotion or guarantee that the series is currently available there.
