Can you install Virgin TV Go on Firestick?
No. Virgin Media says Virgin TV Go is unavailable on Amazon Fire devices and does not support Firestick or Chromecast. Its compatibility guidance lists computers and supported Android and Apple mobile devices instead.
Android support does not mean every device built on Android is supported. Virgin Media’s listing of Android phones and tablets does not authorize installation on Fire OS or generic Android TV devices. A Virgin TV 360 box is a separate, supported Virgin Media device with TV Go integration.
Why sideloading is not a supported fix
The Android app being available through Google Play does not make it compatible with Fire OS. Installing an APK from an unofficial source can lead to installation, login, navigation, playback, digital-rights-management or location-verification failures. Unofficial APKs also create malware and account-security risks.

Changing the launcher, installing Google Play or using Downloader does not make the setup supported. Virgin Media can change app compatibility or authentication, so a sideloaded installation may stop working. For a reliable setup, use an officially supported device and get the app only from the Google Play listing or Apple App Store listing.
Official ways to watch Virgin TV Go
Virgin TV Go is a supplementary service for eligible Virgin TV customers, not a general Fire TV streaming app. You need My Virgin Media credentials, and available channels and On Demand programmes depend on your package, equipment and programme rights. Android phone or tablet
- Open Google Play and search for Virgin TV Go, or use the official Google Play listing.
- Install and open the app. If needed, select the profile icon and choose Register.
- Enter the email address or phone number associated with Virgin Media and complete the verification steps.
- Sign in with your My Virgin Media username and password. Register and name the device if prompted.
- Choose an available live channel or On Demand programme.
iPhone or iPad
- Search for Virgin TV Go in the App Store, or open the official App Store listing.
- Install the app, then register or sign in with your My Virgin Media details.
- Select a live or On Demand programme and complete device registration if prompted.
Windows computer or Mac
- Open an up-to-date supported browser on a compatible computer. Virgin Media lists Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari among supported browsers.
- Go to virgintvgo.virginmedia.com and sign in with My Virgin Media credentials.
- Register and name the computer or browser if requested, then select a live channel, TV Guide entry or On Demand title.
- Allow cookies and protected content, and permit pop-ups if the service requires them.
Virgin Media’s browser and TV search guidance explains web viewing. Keep using the browser you registered: a different browser, private window or deleted cookies may be treated as a new device.
How to watch on a television instead
Connect a computer to the TV
For a larger screen without a Virgin TV 360 box, the practical supported route is to play Virgin TV Go in a computer browser and connect the computer to the television with HDMI. The computer needs a compatible video output and the TV an HDMI input; an appropriate adapter may be needed. Protected-content rules, HDCP, the adapter or browser can affect playback, so this is not guaranteed for every setup.

Use Virgin TV 360 integration
If you have a Virgin TV 360 box, open Virgin TV Go on a compatible phone or tablet, connect it to the same home network as the box where required, and open the programme or TV Guide entry. Tap Watch on TV or the Connect to TV icon, then select the Virgin TV 360 box. Playback continues on that Virgin device; this does not send the stream to a Firestick.
What about Chromecast, mirroring or other Virgin boxes?
Virgin Media says Chromecast is unsupported, and TV Go is not a general smart-TV app. Generic screen mirroring is not a dependable workaround because protected video may be blocked or appear blank. V6 and TiVo customers should distinguish TV Go from the separate Virgin TV Control app, which handles certain remote-control and recording functions; see Virgin Media’s Virgin TV Control guidance. Stream, V6, TiVo and 360 boxes have their own supported services and features; check Virgin Media’s TV box guidance for your equipment.

Device and account limits
As stated in Virgin Media’s guidance checked on 18 August 2026, TV Go allows up to five registered devices, up to two simultaneous streams, and up to three device swaps per month. The legal terms note that some Sky content may be limited to one stream, and different browsers can count as separate devices. These limits and package restrictions can affect availability.
My Virgin Media details are required; the TV Go login is not necessarily the telephone or security password used when contacting Virgin Media. If your account details cannot be matched, Virgin Media may ask for the account number and area reference shown on your bill or contract.

Fix common Virgin TV Go problems
The app does not appear on Firestick
That is expected: Virgin TV Go is not available on Amazon Fire devices. Searching the Amazon Appstore or installing an app with a similar name will not provide an officially supported Virgin TV Go service.
A sideloaded APK will not install or play
- Uninstall the sideloaded app and do not enter Virgin Media credentials into an unofficial APK.
- If you already entered credentials in a questionable third-party app, change your password.
- Switch to the official Android or iOS app, or a supported computer browser.
- If the supported option still fails, check device registration, stream limits, VPN use and browser permissions.
The website says the device is already registered
- Check whether you switched browsers or opened a private/incognito window.
- Consider whether clearing cookies caused the browser to be treated as a new device.
- Check whether five devices are already registered or three device swaps have already been used that month.
Playback fails or shows a blank video
- Turn off a VPN or proxy and make sure the service can verify your UK location.
- Check the internet connection, browser version, cookies, protected-content permission and pop-up settings.
- Confirm that the programme is included with your TV package and that the permitted number of streams is not already in use.
- Do not expect playback through a Firestick, Chromecast or unsupported smart-TV setup.
Can you watch Virgin TV Go abroad?
Live and On Demand streaming is intended for the UK; Virgin Media may use location services to verify where you are, and VPN use can stop the service working. Roaming is not supported for live app streaming. Virgin Media says eligible programmes downloaded in advance may be watched abroad, subject to programme rights and download rules.
For an eligible download, tap the three-dot menu beside a programme and select Download. Find it under Menu > Saved > Downloads. Virgin Media’s guidance generally gives a downloaded programme 30 days to be started and 48 hours to finish after playback begins; some episodes may be limited to two downloads per account. Restrictions vary by programme and rights holder.
