Possibly, but don’t count on VLC for unattended, continuous streaming until you have verified the setup with your installed version and tested it. YouTube accepts encoder feeds over RTMP or RTMPS, but the current VLC playlist-repeat and streaming-output steps are not established here. The bigger prerequisite is permission: you need the rights to stream the cartoons, and YouTube may interrupt a live stream that matches third-party content.
What “continuously” means in practice
A cartoon playlist can be a source for a YouTube Live encoder stream if the player or encoder can send compatible video and audio to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. That does not, by itself, prove that a particular VLC release can loop every playlist item and maintain a reliable feed indefinitely. Treat continuous playback as something to validate—not a guarantee.
YouTube documents that streams lasting under 12 hours are automatically archived. That archive behavior does not establish that one VLC session can run indefinitely, that every file will transition without interruption, or what happens to an archive if a longer session ends.
Check rights before configuring the stream
Do not stream cartoons merely because they are available online or because you can play them locally. You must have the necessary rights for live and archived use. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may replace, interrupt, or terminate a stream when it detects a match.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A licence alone may not prevent an interruption: if the rights holder uses Content ID, they may also need to allowlist your channel. Resolve that with the rights holder before going live. Rights can cover different uses, territories, music, and archive availability, so confirm that your permission covers the whole intended broadcast.
Prepare YouTube Live and test VLC cautiously
- Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified, have had no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and meet the minimum age of 16 for live streaming.
- Create an encoder stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream and obtain its stream URL and stream key. The key is a credential used by the encoder to send the feed; keep it private and do not share it or include it in public screenshots.
- Check the installed VLC version’s capabilities. Confirm that it can output a compatible RTMP or RTMPS feed and repeat the playlist as intended. The exact VLC controls and command syntax are version-dependent and are not confirmed here, so do not rely on a guessed menu path or command.
- Start with a short test playlist. Verify that VLC reaches YouTube, that the preview shows the expected picture and sound, and that playback returns to the first item after the last one. Observe at least one full playlist cycle before relying on it for a longer broadcast.
- Review YouTube’s preview and stream health. Check for dropped frames, unstable bitrate, missing audio, or a stream that stops at a file boundary. Test with representative motion and audio rather than a static sample.
Use YouTube-compatible encoding settings
YouTube lists RTMP and RTMPS as ingest protocols, H.264, H.265, and AV1 as supported video codecs, and AAC or MP3 as supported audio codecs. It recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds. These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular VLC configuration will produce a valid feed.

For 720p at 30 fps, YouTube’s published table gives a video bitrate range of 2–6 Mbps and a total upload bandwidth range of 3–8 Mbps. Leave bandwidth headroom rather than setting the stream at the full capacity of a variable home connection. If the connection cannot sustain the chosen rate, reduce quality or use a more reliable connection, then retest.
Plan for monitoring and archive limits
- Keep someone available to check the Live Control Room during early tests; an unattended playlist can fail because of a network drop, an encoder problem, or a content match.
- Check transitions between different files for black frames, unexpected silence, aspect-ratio changes, or formats that the chosen output profile cannot handle consistently.
- Decide whether you need a YouTube archive. Streams under 12 hours are automatically archived according to YouTube’s encoder help guidance; do not assume that a longer session will produce the archive you want.
- For a long-running broadcast, test the actual playlist and connection for a representative period before scheduling it. A short successful test confirms basic connectivity, not indefinite stability.
Common problems and what to check
- YouTube receives no signal: Recheck the stream URL and key in the encoder, confirm that the key has not been reset, and verify that the selected output protocol is compatible.
- The stream connects but YouTube reports poor health: Check the upload connection and encoder bitrate. Lower the bitrate or resolution if the connection is unstable, leave bandwidth headroom, and review the preview again.
- The playlist stops or fails to repeat: Confirm the repeat behavior in the documentation for your installed VLC release and test a complete cycle. Do not assume that playlist playback automatically means playlist looping.
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the picture: Treat this as a possible third-party-content match. Stop and resolve rights or Content ID allowlisting with the rights holder; changing encoder settings does not grant permission.
- A long broadcast does not archive as expected: Account for YouTube’s stated automatic archiving of streams under 12 hours and plan archive capture and retention accordingly.
