Yes in the literal sense: Jujutsu Kaisen reached its announced finale, chapter 271, after an official countdown said five chapters remained. Whether those chapters wrapped up “everything” to every reader’s satisfaction is a different, subjective question.
Did Jujutsu Kaisen actually end in five chapters?
On August 19, 2024, the official Jujutsu Kaisen account announced “完結まであと5話” (“Five chapters until completion”), identifying chapter 271 as the final chapter. Dengeki Online reported the announcement. Read Dengeki Online’s report.

VIZ’s official chapter catalog lists chapters 266 through 271, with chapter 271 as the last listed chapter. That sequence spans six chapter numbers because the countdown meant five chapters were left after the announcement—not that the manga had only five chapters remaining in the catalog. Why do the finale dates differ?
The Japanese magazine issue date reported for the finale was September 30, 2024. VIZ’s online schedule lists chapter 271 for September 29, 2024. Those dates refer to different publication contexts—the Japanese magazine issue and VIZ’s online release listing—so the one-day difference is not evidence of two different finales. Does reaching chapter 271 mean everything was resolved?
No publication announcement can settle that judgment. The countdown and chapter catalog establish that the series ended where announced; they do not show that every plot thread received the same amount of attention, or that every reader found the pacing and emotional resolution satisfying.
A useful way to assess “wrapped up” is to separate three questions:

- Did the planned endpoint arrive? Yes: the announced finale was chapter 271.
- Did the story give its conflicts and characters on-page conclusions? That requires judging what the ending actually depicts and how much closure each thread receives.
- Did the ending feel satisfying? That depends on the reader’s expectations. The sources cited here do not establish a representative reader consensus.
Did the Japanese volumes add epilogue material?
Meristation reported that the Japanese editions of volumes 29 and 30 were released simultaneously on December 25, 2024, with additional epilogue material concerning Yuko Ozawa, Uraume, Nobara Kugisaki, and Panda.
