Yes. Gyre can stream a playlist of prerecorded videos to YouTube as a live broadcast, but that does not mean every mixed-format playlist will work unchanged. You upload the source files to Gyre, check its file report, and optimize files that do not meet the applicable requirements. Gyre says the playlist starts again from the beginning after its final video.
What “different formats” means in practice
A playlist may contain files with different containers, codecs, resolutions, frame rates, or audio settings. The available Gyre documentation does not provide an exhaustive current list of accepted input extensions and codecs, so it cannot confirm that any arbitrary mix will be accepted or played as-is.
Gyre’s setup guide checks file parameters such as resolution, FPS, and audio settings. Treat that report as the practical compatibility check: if a file does not meet the applicable requirements, Gyre says to optimize it before adding it to the stream. This is a check-and-correct workflow, not a promise that every file needs no conversion. Gyre’s setup guidance describes the process. [c001]
How the playlist reaches YouTube
- Prepare the source files. Keep the original video files available to upload. Gyre says all files must be uploaded to Gyre storage, including videos previously published on your YouTube channel and videos that are already part of a YouTube playlist. A YouTube playlist link is not described as a substitute for uploading the files. Gyre’s prerecorded-video guide explains this requirement. [c002]
- Upload the videos to Gyre and review the file report. Check the reported resolution, frame rate, and audio parameters. Optimize a file if Gyre flags it as not meeting requirements, then use the corrected file for the playlist. [c001]
- Build the playlist and connect the YouTube stream. Gyre is a cloud service for sending prerecorded videos as a live broadcast; YouTube Help also lists Gyre as a verified encoder option. An encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming on YouTube. You do not need to leave a dedicated streaming PC or camera running for this cloud broadcast. YouTube Help’s encoder instructions describe the encoder role. [c004] [c008]
- Start the stream and confirm its status in YouTube Studio. Check that the broadcast is active and that playback and audio are behaving as expected before relying on a long continuous run.
- Check the end-of-playlist behavior. Gyre says a playlist restarts from its first file after the last file finishes. [c006]
Do you need to convert every video first?
Not necessarily. Upload the files and use Gyre’s report to identify which ones need optimization. The documentation supports optimizing files that fail the applicable checks; it does not establish that all files require conversion or that all mixed-format combinations work untouched. [c001] [c002]

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Keep stream-relevant settings consistent where possible
Gyre warns that mixing resolutions or bitrates may increase playback problems in a continuous broadcast. That is vendor guidance, not an independent performance test. As a practical precaution, standardize resolution and bitrate across a playlist where feasible, and review frame rate and audio settings in the file report as well. [c007]
Gyre’s help article gives HD/full-HD preparation guidance of 1280×720 or 1920×1080, H.264, 3072–6144 kbps video, 128 kbps audio, and 30 fps. These are dated vendor recommendations, not a complete current compatibility matrix. The same article contains an ambiguously labelled “Frame rates 44.1 kHz” line; because 44.1 kHz is not a clearly stated frame-rate value there, do not use that line as a frame-rate requirement. Do not confuse source-file requirements with YouTube ingest requirements
YouTube’s HLS ingest documentation specifies a delivery protocol and stream characteristics, including muxed M2TS, H.264 or HEVC, AAC, closed GOP, and up to 60 fps. Those details describe one way an encoder can send a live stream to YouTube; they do not establish which uploaded source-file extensions Gyre accepts. Check Gyre’s file report for source compatibility rather than treating YouTube’s HLS requirements as a Gyre upload-format list. Google’s HLS ingestion requirements cover the ingest stage. [c005]
When this workflow makes sense
- Use Gyre’s cloud workflow if you want prerecorded videos to run as a YouTube live broadcast without keeping a local encoder running. Gyre is listed by YouTube Help as a verified encoder option. [c004] [c008]
- Allow time for file preparation if the report flags videos for optimization. Gyre reports that, on average, a one-hour video converts in 12–15 minutes; this is its 2026 vendor-reported figure, not an independent benchmark, and actual time may vary with the file and service conditions. [c001]
- Do not rely on a YouTube playlist URL alone. Gyre’s cited guidance requires the source files to be uploaded to Gyre storage. [c002]
- Choose a consistent set of source properties when continuity matters, especially resolution and bitrate, while treating Gyre’s warning about mixed settings as vendor guidance rather than a quantified failure rate. [c007]
Or let it run in the cloud
