Yes. You can run an encoder on a VPS and send a cartoon feed to YouTube Live, provided the channel is eligible, the server can encode and upload continuously, and you have the rights to broadcast every cartoon. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming but does not certify a particular VPS provider or server size.
What you need to check before setting it up
Channel access
YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and its getting-started guidance says creators must be at least 16. Check that live streaming is available for your channel before configuring the VPS. See YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
Audience designation and Made for Kids restrictions
Set the audience designation accurately. If the stream is Made for Kids, YouTube restricts or disables features including live chat and personalized ads; comments, notifications, and other features are affected too. Do not build the format around interaction that will not be available. Review YouTube’s Made for Kids guidance.
Broadcast rights
Technical ability to stream does not grant permission to rebroadcast a cartoon. Confirm that your rights cover the specific episodes, music, artwork, and any other content in the feed. YouTube identifies copyright strikes and matches to another copyrighted live broadcast among possible reasons for stream restrictions; consult its copyright guidance for live streams. No particular cartoon or license is assessed here.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to run the stream from a VPS
- Choose a target format. Select the resolution and bitrate your stream can sustain. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance gives recommended settings; match your encoder to those recommendations rather than assuming a VPS will compensate for an unsuitable configuration.
- Check the server’s sustained capacity. The VPS must encode the chosen feed continuously and send it at the configured bitrate. YouTube does not publish a universal CPU or RAM specification for this workload, so assess the provider’s available resources against your encoder and target format.
- Check outbound bandwidth and stability. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. A VPS needs to sustain that rate, not merely reach it in a short speed test. YouTube warns: “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” See YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Configure an encoder and connect it to YouTube. Use an encoder-based workflow in YouTube Live Control Room and enter the stream key into the encoder. Treat the key as a secret: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your live event. YouTube describes encoder setup in its live streaming encoder guide.
- Preview and test before relying on it. Start the encoder, inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health, and test any backup encoder or failover arrangement you intend to use. YouTube recommends preparing the encoder in advance and monitoring stream health; see its streaming tips.
How to decide whether a VPS is suitable
Compare the target resolution and bitrate with the server’s sustained encoding capacity, outbound bandwidth, connection reliability, and the time you can devote to monitoring and recovery. Also check the provider’s current terms. YouTube’s published guidance helps with stream configuration and bandwidth, but it does not certify hosting providers or specify one server size that fits every cartoon feed. No VPS vendor, price, or measured performance is established here.
- Choose a lower target bitrate or resolution if the server cannot sustain the workload reliably.
- Plan how you will detect a stopped or unhealthy stream and restart the encoder.
- Confirm that any backup setup is actually configured and tested rather than assuming it will take over automatically.
- Do not launch until channel eligibility, audience designation, and content rights are settled.
Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a live stream: verify channel access and check for livestream restrictions before troubleshooting the VPS.
- The stream drops or shows poor health: check sustained outbound bandwidth, encoder load, and network stability. Leave YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom above the total bitrate.
- The stream does not appear in the expected event: verify that the encoder is using the correct stream key and that the intended live event is open in Live Control Room.
- Interactive features are missing: check the audience designation and the feature limits for Made for Kids content; do not treat disabled chat or other restrictions as an encoder fault.
- YouTube restricts the broadcast: review copyright status and confirm that you have rights to every element being rebroadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
