If your YouTube stream shows a prerecorded video but has no sound, check CameraFi Live’s Video and Audio sources separately. Make sure the clip is active in Video, then confirm an audible audio source is selected in Audio. If the clip’s soundtrack is not reaching the stream through the video source, add an authorized audio file of the soundtrack separately and test before going live.
1. Check CameraFi Live’s separate Video and Audio sources
- Open Video and confirm the prerecorded clip is added and active. CameraFi’s Android guide treats video files as video sources: CameraFi Live Android guide.
- Open Audio and confirm the intended audio source is enabled and its level is turned up. A visible video source does not by itself confirm that the stream has an active audio source.
- Listen to the source locally if possible. If the clip plays silently on the phone, check the file and device volume before changing stream settings.
- Run a private or unlisted YouTube test and listen to the resulting stream from another device. This distinguishes audio heard locally from audio actually reaching YouTube.
CameraFi’s FAQ says a prerecorded video can be added as an overlay. Its published Android guide also lists recording files as audio sources, so a separate soundtrack file is a documented route when the video’s sound is not reaching the stream: CameraFi FAQ.
2. Identify how the clip is being played
Clip added directly in CameraFi Live
For an imported video source, first confirm that the clip is active in Video and inspect Audio independently. If the video is visible but its sound is absent, try adding a separate, authorized copy of the soundtrack through Audio. CameraFi documents audio files such as MP3 and mixing an audio file with microphone input: CameraFi Live Android guide. This workaround depends on the file and app version; verify it in a test stream rather than assuming every format behaves the same way.
Clip playing in another Android app
If CameraFi is capturing another app’s playback, that is a different audio route from adding a video file directly. CameraFi says Android internal-audio capture requires Android 10 or later and works only with apps that allow third-party audio recording. If the playback app blocks capture, CameraFi cannot obtain its internal sound through that route: CameraFi internal-audio guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Also check whether another app or feature has taken control of audio. CameraFi’s FAQ describes a game voice-chat case in which the game takes control and CameraFi is left without sound. That example is specific to a game scenario, but it makes competing audio paths worth checking when playback is coming from another app: CameraFi FAQ.
iPhone screen broadcast
For a screen broadcast on iOS, check CameraFi’s in-app audio controls. Its May 2026 guide says the microphone can be enabled from iOS Control Center after broadcasting starts. These instructions concern screen broadcasting; they do not establish how every imported video file routes audio on iOS: CameraFi Live iOS guide.

3. Use Audio Sync only when sound is present but mistimed
If audio reaches the stream but is early or late relative to the video, CameraFi’s Audio Sync adjustment may help on supported destinations, including YouTube. It changes timing; it cannot restore a missing or unselected audio source. CameraFi also warns that using sync on YouTube may affect the saved recording: CameraFi Audio Sync guidance.
4. Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you observe | Likely check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Video is visible, but the stream is silent | The intended audio source may not be active in CameraFi’s separate Audio menu. | Check Audio selection and level. If needed, add an authorized soundtrack file as a separate audio source and test. |
| Phone audio works, but YouTube is silent | Local playback does not prove that CameraFi is sending that audio source to the stream. | Verify CameraFi’s Audio source and use a private or unlisted test stream. |
| Sound is missing only when playing from another Android app | The app may not permit internal-audio capture, or another app feature may control audio. | Check Android version and app capture permissions; if capture is unavailable, use a supported source route such as a separately added authorized audio file. |
| Sound is audible but does not match the picture | This is a synchronization problem, not a missing-source problem. | Try Audio Sync if supported, keeping in mind CameraFi’s warning about the saved YouTube recording. |
| iPhone screen broadcast has no expected audio | Screen-broadcast audio or microphone controls may not be enabled. | Check CameraFi’s audio controls and, after broadcasting starts, the iOS Control Center microphone setting described in its guide. |
5. Check rights before streaming a separate soundtrack
Use only audio and video you own or are authorized to broadcast. CameraFi’s FAQ warns that streaming someone else’s content can cause copyright trouble: CameraFi FAQ. A separate soundtrack file should be rights-cleared too.
