Why was the 2025 festival a milestone?
The event formed part of the Town of Cambridge’s 30-year celebrations. The Town says it was founded in 1994; its March 2025 media release described the occasion as 30 years since Cambridge became its own local government area. Mayor Gary Mack said the festival “showcases the energy and spirit of our community.” Town of Cambridge media release, 10 March 2025
The Town said the festival had been put on hold because of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. The Town’s release gives that explanation; PerthNow described the hiatus as dating back to pre-COVID times. PerthNow’s 15 March 2025 report

The Town’s 2024/25 annual report says Council committed to holding the festival every two years and identifies 2027 as the planned next edition.
