The timeline draws mainly on Nine’s retrospective account, with E! News providing a later report about Baker. The dates for later relationships describe media reporting, not independently verified private milestones.
Jayne Centre: marriage, daughter and divorce
Klein married Jayne Centre in 1964. Nine reports that they had a daughter, Marci, in 1967, and divorced in 1974. Accounts differ on whether Klein and Centre began dating in high school or college, so a precise courtship start cannot be stated confidently.
In a 2008 Vanity Fair interview, Klein described the breakup in words reproduced by Nine: “We were kids. We grew in different directions.”

Kelly Rector: a decade between separation and divorce
Rector began working for Klein as a design assistant in 1981. They married in Rome in 1986, separated in 1996, and finalized their divorce in 2006. Separation and divorce were therefore distinct events, ten years apart.
Nine says they remained on good terms. It reports that they appeared together at New York Fashion Week in February 2025. That public appearance is evidence of an occasion, not a basis for inferring a romantic relationship.

Nicholas Gruber: linked in reports around 2010
Nine says media reports linked Klein and Nicholas Gruber in 2010 and describes the relationship as lasting about two years. The outlet also reports a 48-year age difference. Those reported details do not establish private milestones beyond what the coverage states.

Kevin Baker: first linked in 2016; status reported in 2026
Nine reports that Klein and former model Kevin Baker were first linked in 2016, after they were photographed together in India. A March 2026 E! News report described Baker as Klein’s partner. That is the latest status established in the coverage cited here, and it should be understood as a description published in 2026 rather than a timeless claim.

What the public timeline can—and cannot—show
The two marriages have reported marriage and divorce dates, and Centre’s marriage also has a reported child and birth year. Later coverage offers less detail: for Gruber it gives a reported linking date and approximate duration; for Baker, a first reported link and a 2026 partner description. Public photographs or media labels cannot, on their own, fill in private details or confirm a relationship’s full course.
Nine supplies most of this chronology retrospectively. Its article reproduces statements attributed to Klein and Rector from 2008, but is not the original Vanity Fair interview. No primary court record or direct statement from Klein about Gruber or Baker is established by the cited accounts. The most accurate description is therefore a chronology of publicly reported relationships, not a definitive inventory of Klein’s personal life.
