Five members greeted him outside his military base; later that day, all seven gathered at HYBE headquarters in Seoul. Jin met fans at 2024 FESTA the following day.
Watch the reunion in the right order
The reunion unfolded in two separate moments on June 12. J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook welcomed Jin outside the 5th Army Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, where he had been serving. Suga was not at the base. Later, all seven members met at HYBE headquarters in Seoul for a private welcoming party and shared a group photo. Yonhap News Agency’s June 12 report covered both gatherings.
The base greeting
RM, who was serving in a military brass band, played BTS’s “Dynamite” on saxophone as the members welcomed Jin. BigHit Music had asked fans not to visit the discharge site because of overcrowding concerns; fans followed his return through online broadcasts instead.
The seven-member gathering
The later HYBE headquarters gathering brought Jin together with all six other members. Keeping the locations distinct matters: the five-member greeting took place at the base, while Suga joined the group later in Seoul.

Jin’s return and the FESTA fan events
In remarks on Weverse Live reported by Yonhap, Jin said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve greeted you all. This is BTS’ Jin. I’ve returned after 18 months.” He also said, “I didn’t want to cry, but I was so overwhelmed with happiness that tears came out twice.”
On June 13, the day before BTS’s 11th debut anniversary, Jin met fans at Jamsil Arena as part of 2024 FESTA. Korea.net, a publication of South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, reported that he hugged 1,000 selected attendees in the first segment and met another 4,000 in the second. These are figures reported by Korea.net, not independently audited attendance totals. Its June 14 coverage also quoted Jin thanking fans for their patience and saying, “I’ll always stand with Army to be your light.”
