‘Bridgerton’ Season 4’s Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Rebounded, but Review-Bombing Claims Remain Unproven

Collider reported a sharp Rotten Tomatoes audience-score rebound for Bridgerton Season 4 after Part 1’s release. The snapshots do not prove reviews were coordinated.

Collider reported that Bridgerton Season 4’s Rotten Tomatoes audience score climbed from a reported low of 34% to 69% after the weekend following Part 1’s January 29, 2026 release. That is a reported audience-score rebound—not evidence that the season’s Netflix viewership bounced back, nor proof that the reviews were coordinated. The figures are dated snapshots reported on February 2, 2026, not current scores.

What happened to the reported audience score?

In an article published February 2, 2026, Collider, syndicated by IMDb, described this movement in Rotten Tomatoes scores:

Measure Reported figure What it represents
Audience score 34% low; 52% by the end of that day; 69% after the weekend Snapshots reported by Collider in its February 2 article; not independently reconstructed platform data.
Critics score 80% The critics score reported in the same article. It is a separate measure from the audience score.

The article did not provide a defensible review count or sample size for these figures. The available reporting also does not establish that Rotten Tomatoes itself confirmed the movement or its cause. Because these values describe a particular moment, they should not be presented as the scores currently displayed on the platform.

Was Season 4 review-bombed?

Some coverage characterized the activity as “review bombing,” but the reported score changes alone cannot show whether reviews were coordinated or inauthentic. The Mary Sue’s February 3, 2026 commentary connected the dispute to Yerin Ha’s casting as Sophie Baek and objections tied to how the show’s character differs from Julia Quinn’s book character. That is context for the allegation, not proof about any individual review.

It is also possible to dislike the season or its adaptation choices without taking part in a coordinated campaign. A score fluctuation does not distinguish ordinary criticism from bad-faith activity, and the cited reporting does not establish that all negative reviews shared a motive.

What is Season 4 adapting?

Netflix says the eight-episode season follows Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek and adapts Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. Netflix split the season into two releases:

  • Part 1: January 29, 2026
  • Part 2: February 26, 2026

Readers who want the source story can look for An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn. Netflix identifies it as the novel behind this season; the score reporting does not determine whether the adaptation or book is preferable.

Why the rebound needs context

Rotten Tomatoes audience and critics scores are different measures, and neither is a Netflix viewing figure. The reported rise from 34% to 69% describes a change in one platform’s audience-score snapshots over a short period. By itself, it does not establish why the score changed, how representative the reviewers were, or whether the season’s reception broadly improved.

Netflix also announced Season of Love campaign collaborations involving Dove, Pandora, and COTY. Those tie-ins are separate from the review-score story; Netflix’s announcement does not establish current product stock or an available affiliate offer.
