What is known about Brenda’s relationship with Miles and Sofia?
The clearest reported public evidence of Brenda’s continued connection to Lionel’s wider family is her attendance at Nicole’s Los Angeles film premiere on April 2, 2024. ABC News described Brenda as Nicole’s mother and reported that she attended with Nicole’s family, Lionel, and his partner Lisa Parigi.
That appearance documents a shared family event; it does not show the private nature of Brenda’s relationship with Miles or Sofia. Brenda and Lionel’s marriage ended before Lionel’s marriage to Diane, but their daughter Nicole connects the two family chapters. A 2025 Guardian profile reported that Brenda and Lionel had separated by June 1988, when he was dating Diane, and recounted a confrontation at Diane’s home that led to police being called.
