The federal court sent the claims to arbitration and stayed the case; a later federal ruling declined to enter an arbitration award as a judgment there, directing the parties to King County Superior Court. The available court records do not establish what the arbitrator decided or what happened afterward.
What Frost-Winn alleged
Frost-Winn’s 2024 complaint concerned a settlement of his earlier sexual-harassment lawsuit against Tinsley. A February 22, 2024 report by Rolling Stone, syndicated by Yahoo Entertainment, described Frost-Winn as a former member of Tinsley’s band Crystal Garden and reported that the 2019 settlement included a mutual non-disparagement clause. The settlement document is not available in the cited sources, so its terms are reported rather than independently confirmed here.
The complaint reportedly alleged that posts Tinsley made on February 22, 2022 violated that clause. The same news report recounted Tinsley’s response, which rejected the accusation and criticized Frost-Winn. These are the parties’ reported positions; the cited court orders do not determine whether the posts breached the agreement or whether either party’s claims about them were true.
What the reported settlement figures mean
Rolling Stone reported that the 2019 settlement payment was $837,000 and that the agreement set a $25,000 penalty for each breach of its non-disparagement provision. According to the report, Frost-Winn’s complaint counted 18 alleged instances and sought $450,000—18 multiplied by $25,000. That amount was the plaintiff’s reported calculation, not a confirmed arbitration award or payment.

How the case moved through court
May 2024: claims sent to arbitration
The case, Winn v. Tinsley, No. 2:24-cv-00511, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. On May 21, 2024, the court ordered the parties to arbitrate all of Frost-Winn’s claims and stayed the federal action while they pursued a final binding arbitration award. The order is reproduced in the federal docket record.
March 2026: federal court declines to enter an award
On March 30, 2026, the federal court denied Frost-Winn’s petition to enter an arbitration award as a federal judgment. It cited King County Superior Court as the proper venue under the parties’ agreement. The ruling concerns where to request entry of the award; it does not reveal what the arbitrator decided. The March 30 order does not establish whether a state court later entered, modified, or enforced an award.

May 2026: order to show cause
On May 4, 2026, the federal court ordered the parties to show cause by May 11 why the federal case should not be closed. That procedural order does not, by itself, establish that the parties responded, that the federal docket was later closed, or that the underlying dispute was finally resolved. The May 4 minute order sets the deadline but does not provide a later outcome.
