Why did Bon Jovi revisit the album with guests?
In an Associated Press interview published October 24, 2025, Jon Bon Jovi said that during recovery from vocal-cord surgery, he was not physically ready for the demands of touring. He continued working in the studio and chose to reimagine the record with guest performers. He named Robbie Williams as the first artist he called. That is his explanation for the project; it does not mean the guests replaced him in every recording role.
In the band’s August 27 announcement, Jon Bon Jovi described the impetus this way: “This album is more than just a collection of collaborations; it is an album borne out of necessity.” The announcement connected the project’s timing to vocal-cord rehabilitation and the demands of touring.
Why is Bruce Springsteen on “Hollow Man”?
Jon Bon Jovi told the Associated Press that Springsteen liked “Hollow Man” even when it was still a demo and accepted the invitation to perform on it. Reflecting on the collaboration, he said: “Oh, it’s fantastic. I mean, I’ve looked up to him my whole life. The E Street Band are our Beatles.” He also recalled Springsteen calling it “That’s a really special song.”
