BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity is the fourth and final cour of the anime adaptation’s Thousand-Year Blood War storyline. VIZ announced that the U.S. premiere would stream on Hulu on July 25, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. PDT. Disney+ is the named streaming destination in select international markets, while Japan received a July 2026 television broadcast on TV Tokyo-affiliated stations.
The finale was also treated as a theatrical event. Episodes 1–3 were previewed in Japan on June 21, 2026, and in U.S. cinemas from June 25–29, 2026. The final cour features an opening theme by jo0ji, an ending theme by 9Lana, and the returning Thousand-Year Blood War production team led by director and series composer Tomohisa Taguchi.
What is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Cour 4?
Cour 4 is the concluding television installment of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, the anime project adapting the final story arc of Tite Kubo’s Bleach manga. It is not a separate spin-off or an unrelated fourth series. “Cour 4,” “part 4,” and “season 4” are different ways fans and outlets may describe the same final installment.

For English-language coverage, the official title is BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity. The Japanese official website uses BLEACH 千年血戦篇-禍進譚-, with 禍進譚 serving as the Japanese title for this concluding cour.
The official franchise positioning is straightforward: Thousand-Year Blood War is the anime adaptation of Bleach’s final arc, and Cour 4 is intended to bring that television adaptation to its long-awaited conclusion. That does not automatically mean every manga page will be reproduced scene for scene. Until episode-specific material is officially published, it is more accurate to describe the installment as the anime’s concluding battle and final television chapter than to predict particular additions, omissions, or alterations.

For U.S. viewers, Hulu is the service named in VIZ’s announcement for the premiere. Viewers elsewhere should not assume that Hulu is available or that Disney+ carries the series in every country. Streaming rights are territory-specific, so the practical answer to where to watch Bleach: The Calamity depends on the viewer’s country and the local catalog at the time of checking.
The announced U.S. time is 7:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time. That corresponds to 10:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, although viewers should check the service listing for their own region because platform schedules and localization can vary.

Japan: June 21, 2026
The Japanese official announcement described a one-day event on June 21, 2026. It included episodes 1–3, a cast stage event, and live-viewing screenings at additional theaters.
United States: June 25–29, 2026
VIZ and Fathom Entertainment announced a limited U.S. theatrical engagement running from June 25 through June 29, 2026. Alongside episodes 1–3, the presentation included behind-the-scenes material and an interview with creator Tite Kubo.
Calling this a “movie” without qualification is misleading. The event’s central presentation consisted of the opening three television episodes shown in cinemas ahead of broadcast and streaming. It is better understood as a theatrical preview or event screening of Cour 4.
Staff, cast and production team
The core creative leadership from the Thousand-Year Blood War project continues into the final cour:
- Director and series composition: Tomohisa Taguchi
- Character design: Masashi Kudo
- Music: Shiro SAGISU
- Animation production: studio Pierrot
The official staff-and-cast announcement is the appropriate reference for the complete performer list. The U.S. theatrical-preview announcement specifically named Masakazu Morita, Noriaki Sugiyama, Shinichiro Miki, Yuichiro Umehara and Shunsuke Takeuchi among the stage-event participants. Their participation in that event should not be taken as confirmation that every named performer appears in every episode of Cour 4.

Opening and ending songs
The final cour’s opening theme is “I-BULL” by jo0ji. Its ending theme is “Rasen” by 9Lana.
The official music commentary also includes Tite Kubo’s explanation of the selection process. He listened to submissions from the demo stage while looking for a high-impact opening song. For the ending, he regarded 9Lana’s track as particularly strong in its melody, lyrics and arrangement. Those comments explain the creative intent behind the choices; they should not be expanded into claims about specific scenes or characters unless the production publishes additional information.

Cour 4 continues and concludes the Thousand-Year Blood War storyline as adapted for television. The safest spoiler-conscious description is that it brings the anime toward the resolution of the final conflict established by the preceding cours and completes the adaptation’s concluding arc.
There is not enough authoritative information in the available announcements to provide a verified episode-by-episode synopsis. In particular, the currently established material does not confirm:
- the final episode count;
- the total runtime;
- a complete official episode-title list;
- the precise order or extent of any anime-original material;
- which manga scenes may be expanded, rearranged or omitted; or
- the specifications of a Cour 4 Blu-ray or DVD release.
Fan databases, retailer metadata and social-media discussions can be useful for tracking speculation, but they are not substitutes for an official episode guide, broadcaster schedule, authorized interview or home-video announcement. Until those sources confirm more detail, readers should be cautious with supposedly definitive finale runtimes, episode counts and plot summaries.

How to catch up with the Bleach manga
Readers who want the source material behind the final anime arc have a clear physical option. VIZ identifies Bleach Box Set 3 as the third and final Bleach manga box set. It contains manga volumes 49–74, covering the concluding portion of the series, and includes an exclusive booklet, a cover-art gallery, an author interview and a full-color double-sided poster.

The Bleach manga box set is a source-material recommendation, not an anime release. Box Set 3 does not contain Cour 4 episodes, Blu-ray discs or a streaming subscription. It is the relevant collection for readers who want to read or reread the manga material associated with the anime’s final storyline, while the complete manga is also available through VIZ’s official reading and retail channels.
VIZ’s manga reader identifies the concluding chapters, including chapter 686, and points readers toward volume 74 and Box Set 3. Someone starting from the beginning should use the earlier box sets or individual volumes as needed; someone revisiting the final arc can begin with the volumes in Box Set 3, keeping in mind that the anime adaptation may make its own pacing and presentation choices.
Official Thousand-Year Blood War merchandise
VIZ Shop has a dedicated Thousand-Year Blood War collection for viewers who want licensed franchise merchandise after watching the finale. The range includes apparel, hats, jackets, phone cases, posters, blankets, mugs, tumblers and character-related collectibles.
Availability, sizes, prices and stock can change. The collection should be treated as an official merchandise option rather than as evidence of a particular Amazon listing or a confirmed Cour 4 home-video product.

What has not been confirmed yet?
The official information currently establishes the final-cour identity, release timing, distribution split, theatrical previews, principal staff and music. It does not establish a final episode count, total runtime, complete episode-title list or physical Cour 4 Blu-ray/DVD specifications.
Best Value
Those details should be added only when they appear in an official home-video announcement, broadcaster schedule, distributor listing or another authoritative production source. A retailer page or fan-maintained database may change without notice and should not be treated as the final word on the anime’s format.
