Jasper Carrott, Jeff Lynne, David Harewood, Mike Skinner and Steven Knight are five of the most recognizable people reported as Birmingham City supporters. This is an editorial shortlist, not an official ranking: no source establishes a measured “top five,” and the evidence of support is stronger for some names than others.
Five famous people associated with Birmingham City
The selection spans comedy, music, acting and television. A Birmingham City supporters-club list names all five; other sources independently corroborate some of the connections. The available evidence establishes public association, not necessarily present-day attendance or the same level of fandom for each person.
Jasper Carrott
Comedian Jasper Carrott is the best-corroborated inclusion. He appears on the supporters-club list and in a supporters interview, and Birmingham City University explicitly describes him as a Birmingham City supporter. The interview also treats him as a leading celebrity-fan example.
Jeff Lynne
Musician Jeff Lynne, best known for his work with Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), is named as a famous supporter by the supporters-club list. Birmingham City University’s profile independently describes Lynne’s work as a songwriter, singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist associated with ELO, though that profile is a cultural biography rather than evidence of his supporter status.
#1 Best Overall
- Soft warm acrylic knit in classic Birmingham City team colors of blue + white | Substantial weight that drapes + holds its shape
- Birmingham City team name + mock club crest jacquard knitted into both sides, so the scarf reads right whichever way it hangs
- This scarf measures over 5 feet long with soft fringes at either end | Wraps once around the neck with room to spare, or hang it on the wall as a classic Blues collectible
- Hand wash is recommended and ready for cold weather | One size fits adult Men + Women, and it packs down small for the Stadium or a watch party
- Authentic fan scarf, as worn by Blues supporters at St Andrew's and everywhere | A great gift idea for the Birmingham City fan or the Blues believer in your life!
David Harewood
Actor David Harewood is included in the supporters-club list of famous Birmingham City supporters. The available material does not provide a direct first-person statement from Harewood about the club, so his inclusion is best understood as a reported association.
Mike Skinner
Musician Mike Skinner, known for his work as The Streets, is also named by the supporters-club list. Birmingham City University identifies Skinner as a rapper and record producer. The supporter claim comes from the list rather than a direct statement in the available sources.

Steven Knight
Screenwriter and producer Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, appears on the supporters-club list and in a Birmingham City supporters interview as a celebrity fan likely to be familiar to modern audiences. A BBC report also describes him as a celebrity fan in a story about his meeting with the club’s owners. These reports support calling Knight a supporter, but do not establish a precise level of fandom.
Why this is a shortlist, not a ranking
“Most famous” has no objective measure here: the sources do not publish a survey, comparable fame scores or an authoritative ordered list. The names are a defensible editorial selection of public figures reported as supporters, rather than a claim that one is definitively more famous—or more devoted—than another. Carrott stands out for corroboration; for several others, the available supporter evidence is a secondary list or interview.

Who else might belong on the list?
Karen Carney: a strong alternative with a different connection
Former Birmingham City player Karen Carney is a club legend, and the club has featured her describing the family-rooted connection and sense of home she associates with it. She is a meaningful alternative if the scope includes celebrated former players; her connection is distinct from that of celebrity supporters without a playing history.
Tom Brady: club owner, not necessarily an ordinary fan
Tom Brady’s public link to Birmingham City comes through ownership: an Associated Press report in August 2023 described him becoming a minority owner and partner, and reported that he visited a pub with supporters before a home match. That establishes a prominent club association, not a lifelong or ordinary supporter identity.

Support beyond celebrity names
Birmingham City support is also organized through official branches and community groups. The club’s official supporters network describes fans gathering to travel, watch, sing and socialise, while the Panjabi Blues profile documents a longstanding community and its connections across backgrounds. Those examples offer a broader picture of support; they do not imply that the celebrity names above belong to any particular supporters’ group.
