Which stadium concerts were originally announced?
Sting’s official site announced four 2025 stadium appearances with Billy Joel. Joel’s official site separately announced a Santa Clara date with Stevie Nicks. The later cancellation listing also includes other joint dates, including shows with Nicks and Sting.

The list above covers the four Sting appearances announced on Sting’s site and the Santa Clara Nicks date announced on Joel’s site; it is not a complete account of every joint date later listed as cancelled. What changed from postponement to cancellation?
On March 11, 2025, Joel’s official site said upcoming concerts would be postponed for four months while he recovered from surgery and underwent physical therapy. The notice included rescheduled dates. Joel was quoted then saying, “While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.” That statement described the postponement at the time; it was not the final status. Read the March 11 notice.

On May 23, the Associated Press reported that Joel had cancelled all scheduled concerts after a diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus and medical advice not to perform during recovery. That later cancellation superseded the March rescheduling notice. The Associated Press report provides the health-related context, while Joel’s official cancellation page lists cancelled dates.

Joel’s official cancellation page says: “Please be aware that the refund will go to the original purchaser if the tickets were transferred to you.” In other words, a person who received a transferred ticket should contact the original purchaser about the refund. The cancellation notice does not establish processing timelines or other current ticket-handling details. Check the official cancellation notice for its stated refund guidance.
