She wrote that anniversaries can bring different feelings; that year, she felt grateful for joyful moments with her children and sensed her mother’s presence in them.
What Billie Lourd said about Carrie Fisher

Lourd recalled holding her daughter while she napped, laughing and then crying, and feeling Fisher’s presence in that moment. She also sent love to people grieving loved ones. The caption’s “griefull” is Lourd’s wordplay, not a clinical term or a claim about how everyone experiences grief.
The photo and the anniversary
The post appeared on December 27, 2023, the seventh anniversary of Fisher’s death. It paired Lourd’s reflection with a childhood beach photo of the two of them. Fisher died on December 27, 2016, aged 60, according to Good Morning America.
