What Tucker said about seeing Rubina again
Tucker had left the Big Brother house earlier in the season and watched the live feeds from outside. He told Entertainment Weekly that he noticed Rubina seemed uncertain while he was away. When they saw each other at the October 13, 2024 finale, he brought her flowers.
“She’s the sweetest person ever, so it’s very hard to put those feelings into words, but it was beautiful and I’m very excited to see where our future goes from here,” Tucker said. His description was a personal account of the reunion, not a claim that they had settled what would happen next.
Why Rubina did not kiss him onstage
According to Tucker, Rubina chose not to kiss him onstage because they had already kissed on the show and she wanted to save something for themselves. He said he liked that decision and agreed with her. This is Tucker’s recollection of their exchange; the interview does not establish an independently confirmed explanation from Rubina.

Did they want to stay together after Big Brother?
In October 2024, both expressed interest in seeing whether the relationship could work outside the house. Rubina had said after her eviction that she thought it made sense to try: “And for it to happen on the show, as reluctantly as it did for me, I think that it makes sense we try to make it work outside.” Her comments were reported by Us Weekly.
Tucker also spoke about the practical challenge of moving from the show’s intense environment back to everyday life. At the time, he was in New York and Rubina was in Los Angeles. “I think we’re both very optimistic and happy and wanting it to work, but we’re very much reasonable human beings that know you left one world to go into this crazy world and you’re going to go back to a whole new world,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

What the timeline establishes—and what it doesn’t
- August 2024: After his eviction, Tucker said he valued Rubina’s openness, energy, empathy, and attentiveness, and could imagine a future with her outside the house, according to Us Weekly.
- October 2024: Rubina expressed hope about trying to make the relationship work after her eviction. Tucker described their finale reunion and their optimism about the future in the Entertainment Weekly interview published October 14.
- November 2025: A Parade interview referred to Rubina as Tucker’s “then-girlfriend” in its account of The Amazing Race 38. That later wording does not establish their relationship status as of October 2026.
