In an August 22, 2025, interview with Dalton Ross for Entertainment Weekly, republished by AOL, the Big Brother host said Rylie still had about a minute to try to beat Mickey’s 38.
Why did Rylie and Morgan lock in before checking Mickey’s score?
Ross asked Chen Moonves why the two contestants had locked in their scores with more than a minute left rather than first checking whether Mickey had scored higher. Her answer offered a possible explanation, not a confirmed account of what either contestant was thinking.
Chen Moonves suggested Morgan was worried about her own performance and wanted to lock in before Rylie. Rylie, she said, was distracted by Morgan and missed Mickey’s result. In the interview’s account of the competition, Morgan’s ball rolled to 29 and Mickey buzzed in with 38.
Chen Moonves said Rylie still had roughly a minute to beat 38, adding: “At that point, he must not have been thinking clearly because he had a minute left to try and beat her 38!” The remark captures the apparent opportunity she saw in the moment; the interview does not independently establish the contestants’ motives or set out the official rules governing when scores could be locked.

Why did Rylie’s goodbye take so long?
Chen Moonves said Rylie’s extended goodbye was taking time away from his eviction interview, but explained that the show had room for it. She pointed to the minute remaining in the competition, a brief discussion of strategy after the reveal, and short nominee speeches as factors that left time for the goodbye.
What did Chen Moonves say about Rylie and Katherine?
Asked about Rylie’s relationship with Katherine Woodman, Chen Moonves described it as “very young” from her perspective: “It feels very young to me.” She hoped that watching the videos would give the pair perspective. That was her opinion about their relationship, rather than a claim about how either contestant viewed it.

Chen Moonves was skeptical of the Judges alliance—Rachel, Ashley, Will, Morgan, and Vince. She said houseguests move from one alliance to another and make promises that may not hold. “I don’t give this Judges alliance any serious credibility or hope of surviving,” she told Ross.
