What was the season’s mystery theme?
Season 27’s official theme was “A Summer of Mystery.” The house was presented as Hotel Mystère, and CBS’s preview described a masked visitor, a secret accomplice, and a Mystery Houseguest. The preview framed the premiere around a mastermind, an accomplice, the mystery guest, and three competitions. Those descriptions set up the season’s mystery; they do not establish that every themed room feature was a game mechanic.
Hotel Mystère’s set design
The official preview described a reception area with 75 key boxes, a chess-themed living room, a hidden train-themed bunk room, and a kitchen styled as a rooftop garden. Other spaces included a wine-cellar set with no actual wine, a conservatory lounge, a poison-bar set with no actual poison, and a gym with a boxing ring. These were details of the house design.
When did the Big Brother 27 premiere air?
The 90-minute premiere aired Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The announced schedule also included a second 90-minute episode on Sunday, July 13. CBS’s episode listing gives the July 10 air date.
