What multiple playlists mean in practice
Playlist count, videos per playlist, and stream duration are separate limits. LiveReacting documents up to 600 videos in one playlist and 7,000 videos across playlists within one project. Restream’s documented maximum is 40 videos in one playlist, with a 24-hour playlist duration. OneStream’s 30-day figure is a maximum stream duration, not a stated playlist-capacity figure. Choose OneStream Live if a capped run suits your schedule
OneStream documents YouTube-only 24/7 streaming from uploaded videos or playlists and a 30-day maximum per stream. Set up a cloud playlist stream safely
- Enable YouTube live streaming. If the channel has never streamed, complete YouTube’s phone verification and activation. Restream’s setup guide says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Channel restrictions can also block live streaming.
- Choose a service and confirm the plan limits. Check that the plan supports the run duration, number of concurrent streams, storage, video resolution, playlist size, and YouTube destination you need. For OneStream, verify whether the current account requires Enterprise or an add-on.
- Prepare rights-cleared videos. Use content you own or are licensed to broadcast, including music and visuals. YouTube says live content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Review YouTube’s live-streaming policies.
- Upload and arrange the playlist. Check the order, total duration, and whether the service is configured to loop. Restream does not let you add, remove, or reorder videos after its playlist goes live.
- Connect the YouTube channel and stream key. Follow the provider’s channel-connection flow, select the correct YouTube destination, and keep the stream key private. If you expose it, reset it in YouTube Studio before restarting.
- Start with a short test. Confirm that the picture and audio appear as expected in YouTube, that the playlist advances, and that the stream remains active after your computer is off. Do not treat provider marketing as a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime; check its current status and support commitments.
- Plan for the replay archive separately. Provider guidance reviewed for this comparison warns that YouTube may not save streams longer than 12 hours as a video archive. Keep local originals and, if a complete replay matters, arrange a separate recording or shorter broadcast sessions. Check current YouTube guidance before relying on an archive.
Copyright, monetization, and channel risk
A cloud scheduler does not grant permission to rebroadcast a video. A livestream can still trigger copyright claims or other enforcement if its footage, music, images, or other material is not cleared for that use. Keep records of licenses and permissions, and ensure the rights cover continuous livestreaming, not only ordinary uploads.
Following YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service is required, but compliance alone does not establish monetization eligibility. Reused or repetitive programming may raise separate channel-policy questions; do not assume that leaving a playlist live makes it eligible for monetization. Check YouTube’s current policies for your channel and content before relying on ad revenue.

Compare the full cost of the run you need, not just a headline monthly price. A monthly plan may not cover an uninterrupted multi-month stream if the service imposes a duration cap or requires an add-on. Also account for storage limits, concurrency, video quality, and whether you need to schedule and restart a run.
