This guide covers Disney+’s U.S. catalogue and January 2025 releases; it is a dated snapshot, not a claim about what streams today. Disney says library availability can vary by region and change, so check your local catalogue. These are picks for different moods—not a ranked or measured “best of” list.

Family comedy: Bluey
Choose Bluey for warm family comedy in short installments. Its strongest evidence of broad appeal is historical rather than a current review score: The Walt Disney Company described it as 2024’s most-watched series globally on Disney+.
Disney also reported 50.5 billion minutes watched in the United States—842 million hours—through November 24, 2024, citing Nielsen Media Research’s Streaming Content Ratings for January 1 to November 24, 2024. Those numbers describe U.S. viewing in that specific period; they do not establish a present-day ranking or a comparison with the other shows here. Disney’s announcement gives the attribution and measurement window.

- Activate on your favorite supported devices to watch wherever you are. Limited Commercials and No Commercials plans available,
- Live TV plan required. Regional restrictions, blackouts and additional terms apply.
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards
Nature documentary: A Real Bug’s Life, season 2
For documentary viewing, season 2 of A Real Bug’s Life is the most direct match in this group. Disney described the series as following miniature creatures and the adaptations and behaviors they use to survive. The full second season premiered January 15, 2025, according to the official schedule.
Star Wars adventure: Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
Skeleton Crew follows four children searching for home after becoming lost in the galaxy, according to Disney’s synopsis. It suits viewers after a space-fantasy adventure, but January’s two listed dates were for episodes 7 and 8: January 7 and January 14. They were the season’s final episodes, not a fresh January season start. See Disney’s January calendar for the schedule.

Mystery with a horror edge: Goosebumps: The Vanishing
For a spooky mystery, Goosebumps: The Vanishing centers on twins spending the summer with their father. They investigate a threat and the disappearance of teenagers in 1994. Disney listed the complete season for a U.S. premiere on January 10, 2025. Its synopsis is promotional description, not an independent critical verdict; the release details are in the official schedule.
Superhero animation: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
This animated take follows Peter Parker’s origin journey and draws on the character’s early comic-book roots, as Disney describes it. The two-episode premiere was scheduled for January 29, 2025. It is the pick here for superhero animation rather than a documentary or live-action mystery. See Disney’s U.S. January schedule.

U.S. Hulu-on-Disney+ option: Paradise
Disney’s January 7 update listed Paradise as a January 28 season premiere under “Hulu on Disney+.” That label matters: access to select Hulu content on Disney+ requires valid Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions, and additional Hulu content may only be available in the Hulu app. Do not assume Disney+ alone unlocks every Hulu title. Check Disney’s update and your subscription details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the list is U.S.-specific
Disney’s January calendar describes the U.S. schedule and warns that library availability varies by region and may change. An independent December 2024 roundup also named international releases including Unmasked, Whiskey on the Rocks, Shared Custody, and Medalist; those should be treated as territory-dependent, not as titles available in every market. Consult the regional release overview and, most importantly, your local Disney+ catalogue.
