When does Restream loop prerecorded videos?
Restream’s Help Center article, published March 11, 2026, documents looping for scheduled prerecorded videos as a paid feature. A video can play up to 10 times, and the total event cannot exceed 40 hours. Those are limits for the documented looping feature, not evidence of an unlimited or unattended 24/7 stream.
Videos and playlists
Restream says looping works with uploaded videos and stream recordings. Playlists do not loop natively. Its documented workaround is to duplicate videos in a playlist, which can create repeated playback but is not the same as an automatic playlist loop.

Can StreamYard schedule a prerecorded stream?

How does the OBS workaround differ?
OBS Studio plays media locally and gives the operator control over the scenes and encoding on that machine. StreamYard’s help describes using OBS to loop local video as a virtual-camera background inside StreamYard. It labels the workflow advanced and warns that it can place substantial load on CPU, GPU, and RAM. The computer and network must remain available for as long as the broadcast depends on them.
YouTube’s encoder guide describes an encoder as software that converts video into a digital format for streaming. It mentions webcams, microphones, and headsets as equipment that may be connected; those accessories are not implied requirements for prerecorded playback.
