Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Start by testing OBS at 1080p, 30 fps, H.264, CBR at 10 Mbps, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Use SDR Rec. 709. If your connection or encoder cannot sustain that setup, test 720p30 at 6 Mbps. These are YouTube ingest recommendations—not a guarantee that your particular Indian internet connection or computer can run reliably around the clock.
Recommended OBS settings to test first
YouTube publishes general live-ingest guidance, not a separate bitrate preset for India. Choose a quality your actual connection and computer can sustain, then confirm it with a realistic test and YouTube’s stream-health indicators. The figures below are YouTube Help recommendations accessed in 2026; the pages do not state a publication year.
| Setting | Starting point | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 30 fps | If the connection or encoder struggles, test 720p at 30 fps. For mostly static artwork, higher frame rates may add little visible value; that is a practical judgment, not a YouTube rule. |
| Video encoder | H.264 | YouTube also lists H.265/HEVC and AV1. Whether either is suitable depends on your available encoder hardware and software. |
| Video bitrate | 10 Mbps at 1080p30; 6 Mbps at 720p30 | YouTube lists these as recommended H.264 bitrates. They are targets to test, not guarantees of capacity or stability. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube specifies constant bitrate for RTMP/RTMPS ingest. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends two seconds and says the interval should not exceed four seconds. |
| Audio | AAC stereo, 44.1 kHz, 128 kbps | Listen for clipping, silence, and uneven loudness during a test using the actual music. |
| Color | SDR, Rec. 709, 8-bit | HDR requires additional hardware, software-version, codec, and protocol considerations; it is usually unnecessary for a study-music visual. |
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS where supported | YouTube recommends RTMPS. Keep the stream key private as you would a password. |
| Latency and DVR | Normal latency; enable DVR if viewers should pause or rewind | YouTube warns that lower latency may increase buffering. DVR lets viewers pause and rewind. |
In OBS, the exact encoder name and available controls vary by OBS version, operating system, and hardware. Select the appropriate output controls for your installation and set the values above where those controls are available; do not assume an encoder preset tested for one computer will suit another.
How to test your connection and stream
- Enable YouTube live streaming ahead of time. If this is your first live stream, YouTube says enabling it may take at least 24 hours after your request. Do not leave activation until launch day.
- Check sustained upload capacity. YouTube recommends running a speed test to check upload bitrate. A speed-test result is a useful check, but your stream-health indicators during an actual broadcast are more relevant to the stream itself.
- Run a realistic test. Use the intended resolution, bitrate, music, and visual. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the real broadcast.
- Watch stream health. Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and messages during the test and after going live. If the feed is unstable, lower the target from 1080p30 to 720p30 and test again rather than choosing the highest setting by default.
- Protect the stream key. YouTube describes the key as the credential that lets an encoder send a feed. Do not share it; reset it if it is compromised.
- Choose viewer features deliberately. For a non-interactive music stream, normal latency is a reasonable starting point. Enable DVR if viewers should be able to pause and rewind.
These YouTube recommendations are general, not India-specific. Your sustained upload capacity and connection reliability are the relevant local variables; there is no universal bitrate for every Indian ISP, shared connection, or computer.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What OBS settings cannot guarantee for a 24/7 stream
Correct ingest settings do not make an unattended computer, power supply, home network, or ISP outage-proof. The exact restart and recovery setup depends on your equipment and configuration; YouTube’s ingest recommendations do not establish a universal OBS recovery preset. Plan to monitor the broadcast and test what happens when your computer or connection drops rather than assuming OBS alone guarantees continuous uptime.
A UPS for a computer and Wi-Fi router may help a local setup ride through some power interruptions. It cannot protect against an ISP or YouTube outage, and YouTube does not specifically recommend a UPS.

Copyright and channel eligibility before you go live
Use music and visuals you have the rights to stream. Having a copy of a song, or crediting its creator, does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it. Review the applicable rights and YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements before launching; a technically healthy stream can still face copyright or channel-policy problems.
If this is your channel’s first live broadcast, request live-streaming access early: YouTube says first-time enablement may take at least 24 hours. Keep your key private and check YouTube’s stream-health messages once the test feed is running.
