The right choice depends on your destinations, format, production needs, and whether you want the work done locally or in the cloud.
First, decide what you mean by multistreaming
Multistreaming sends one live program to more than one platform at the same time—for example, YouTube and Twitch. The important distinction is where the video is produced and distributed:
- Browser studio: Build the show in a web studio, then send it to connected platforms. This suits interview and presentation formats where guests and a managed production workflow matter.
- Cloud relay: Produce one feed in software such as OBS, send it to a relay, and let the relay distribute it to destinations. This avoids creating a separate local output for each platform, though it still depends on your connection to the relay.
- Local multi-output: Use desktop software and your computer to produce and send outputs. This gives you local production control but makes your machine and internet connection part of the delivery path.
These are workflow distinctions, not a performance ranking. The available vendor materials do not establish comparative reliability, image quality, latency, CPU use, or audience growth.
Best multistreaming software by workflow
1. StreamYard: best fit for a browser-based hosted show
StreamYard is worth considering if you want to produce a show in a browser, especially one built around guests. Its multistreaming is paid. The pricing page lists three destinations on Core and eight on Advanced; the help article also lists ten on Business. Because the two official pages do not show the same full tier set, verify the tier and current cap that apply to your account before subscribing. - Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
On the pricing page accessed October 3, 2026, Core was displayed at $44.99 monthly or $35.99 with yearly billing selected; Advanced was displayed at $88.99 monthly or $68.99 as the yearly-billed equivalent. The page notes that prices can vary with promotions, renewal terms, and custom offers, so treat these as a dated page snapshot rather than universal fixed rates. Check StreamYard’s current pricing and terms.
2. Restream: best fit for routing an encoder through a cloud relay
Restream is a cloud relay and studio option for creators who want to connect an encoder such as OBS or Zoom and distribute its feed without configuring separate local outputs. Its pricing page’s monthly view lists two channels on Free, three on Standard, five on Professional, and eight on Business. The same view lists 1080p streaming for Professional and above, while Free and Standard show 720p studio video. These are listed plan details, not independent tests of delivered quality. The page also offers annual billing; the figures below are the monthly-billing view accessed October 3, 2026.
| Plan | Simultaneous channels | Monthly-view price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 | $0 |
| Standard | 3 | $19/month |
| Professional | 5 | $49/month |
| Business | 8 | $239/month |
Restream says annual billing saves 20%; do not treat the monthly-view prices above as annual rates. Confirm current prices, destination availability, and plan details on Restream’s pricing page.

3. Streamlabs: best fit if you want desktop production and its cloud multistream feature
Streamlabs offers a desktop and mobile path, including an OBS plugin, with cloud Multistream as an Ultra feature. Its product page lists YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Kick, Facebook, Instagram, Patreon, X, and custom RTMP as destinations. The free Dual Output feature is different from broad platform fan-out: it can send one horizontal and one vertical output, one destination per canvas. The relevant product page does not provide a clear current Ultra price, so check the current offer rather than assuming one. Streamlabs Multistream details.
Recommended Free Tools
Streamlabs describes its relay this way: “With Streamlabs, you send a single stream to us, and our servers forward it to each platform without straining your setup.” That is the vendor’s product description, not an independent performance finding.
4. OBS Studio: best free local production tool, not a built-in cloud relay
OBS Studio is free, open-source software for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It supports scenes, webcams, capture cards, audio mixing, and filters, making it a flexible production and encoding tool. Its official product page does not describe built-in cloud multistream fan-out. If you already use OBS, you can keep it as the production tool and add a relay such as Restream, or use another supported output method; OBS itself and a distribution service solve different parts of the problem. The OBS homepage identified release 32.2.2 and gave an August 14 release date without showing the year in the retrieved page excerpt, so no year is attached here. OBS Studio official site.

Compare the options against your actual show
| What to compare | Why it changes the choice |
|---|---|
| Where encoding and distribution happen | A relay distributes one incoming feed; local multi-output puts more of the output work on your computer and connection. Do not read a vendor’s relay description as proof of a specific performance improvement for your setup. |
| Destinations and account eligibility | Count the platforms you need now, then verify that each integration works for your account and region. A listed destination is not proof that every account has access to it. |
| Free versus paid features | “Free” may mean the base application is free while multi-platform distribution is paid or constrained. Check the specific feature gate, channel cap, and renewal terms. |
| Show production | Guests and browser-based production may favor a studio workflow. Scenes, filters, and audio mixing may favor retaining a desktop encoder. |
| Aspect ratio | A horizontal YouTube program and a vertical output may require different formats or canvases. Check whether the plan supports the formats you intend to send. |
| Technical comfort and existing gear | If your scenes are already built in OBS, adding a relay may preserve that workflow. If you want to host guests without managing a desktop setup, a browser studio may be more convenient. |
Can OBS stream to YouTube and other platforms?
OBS can produce and encode your show, but the official OBS product page does not describe built-in cloud fan-out to multiple platforms. To send the same program to several destinations, use a relay that accepts an encoder feed, or configure a local multi-output method compatible with your setup. With a relay, OBS sends one feed to the service and the service distributes it; with local outputs, your own machine and connection handle the outputs. Choose only after checking the target platforms’ account requirements and the method’s format support.
Before you pay or go live
- Write down the exact destinations. Include whether any one needs a custom RTMP URL, and confirm account eligibility with the service and platform.
- Check the simultaneous destination cap. A two-platform plan may be enough for YouTube plus one other platform; do not pay for a higher cap unless your show needs it.
- Verify output formats. Confirm resolution, aspect ratio, and whether the plan or feature supports the horizontal or vertical outputs you need.
- Check the billing view and renewal terms. Monthly and annual selections can show different amounts; promotional pricing and renewal terms may also differ.
- Run a private or otherwise low-risk test where the platform allows it. Verify audio, video, destination selection, and the intended layout before promoting a multichannel broadcast.
- Review rights and platform rules. Multistreaming software does not grant permission to use music, clips, films, or other copyrighted material. Ensure you have the necessary rights and follow each platform’s live-stream policies.
Common problems and what to check
A destination is missing or will not connect
Confirm that the destination is supported on your chosen plan, that the account is eligible, and that the integration is available in your region. If using custom RTMP, recheck the platform’s server address and stream key in the relevant service; do not assume a destination listing guarantees your particular account can connect.

The image is cropped or the orientation is wrong
Check the source canvas and output format for each destination. If you need horizontal and vertical versions at once, confirm that the selected plan and workflow support separate formats; Streamlabs describes its free Dual Output as one horizontal and one vertical output, one destination per canvas.
The computer or connection is under strain
First identify whether your workflow is creating multiple local outputs or sending one feed to a cloud relay. The paths put work in different places, but the vendor information cited here does not establish a universal CPU or bandwidth saving. Check your encoder and connection behavior during a test instead of assuming either route will perform better on your equipment.
The plan limit or bill differs from what you expected
Reopen the vendor’s live pricing page, select the intended billing interval, and verify the destination cap and renewal terms before checkout. In particular, StreamYard’s help and pricing summaries show different full tier coverage; Restream’s figures above are its monthly-billing view as accessed October 3, 2026.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is not a live camera show but a YouTube channel that keeps uploaded videos live around the clock, that is a different job from multistreaming a live production. StreamNeo runs uploaded videos or a playlist as a 24/7 YouTube stream from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera or to other platforms. The setup is three steps:
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the content from the cloud.
Your computer can be off, the uploaded quality is kept up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
