GIGABYTE lists a 28 W Intel Core Ultra 5 225H, Intel Arc graphics and “Dedicated AVI encode HW” in a sub-0.5 L barebone system. Those are manufacturer specifications, not proof of low whole-system power, OBS compatibility or uninterrupted 24/7 operation. For a lighter workload, the ASUS NUC 14 Essential is a plausible alternative, but its sustained OBS performance is also unverified.
If your goal is simply to keep uploaded videos playing as a YouTube live stream, compare the cost and upkeep of a local PC with a cloud service before buying hardware. Choose a PC for the work, not just the word “streaming”
“24/7 YouTube streaming” can mean three substantially different workloads. The right low-power PC depends on which one you have:
- Playing a pre-rendered video or playlist: prioritize reliable wired networking, adequate storage, low idle draw and cooling designed for continuous use. This may not need the same processing headroom as live scene compositing.
- Compositing scenes in OBS: allow for the load from sources, overlays, transitions and encoding. Confirm that the selected operating system and OBS build can access the hardware encoder you plan to use.
- Capturing a camera, console or other external source: check the capture device’s supported input resolution and frame rate, ports, OS drivers and audio synchronization. The Government of Goa’s procurement specification describes a streaming-and-recording workflow with HDMI inputs and RTMP/RTMPS output; it is an example of the workflow, not a recommendation for a consumer capture card: Government of Goa Directorate of Information Technology.
Before choosing hardware, decide whether you need to encode a live input or only play files. A PC that is adequate for one job is not automatically suitable for the other.

The BRIX’s 28 W figure is the processor’s rated power, not the complete PC’s consumption at the wall. Likewise, ASUS’s “power-efficient” positioning does not establish the NUC’s real power use during an OBS broadcast. Neither product page is a 24/7 YouTube streaming benchmark.
When a discrete GPU is worth considering
Intel describes its Arc A380 as a possible dedicated streaming, media-server or secondary encoding card. That makes it a category to investigate if a mini-PC’s integrated capability does not meet your workflow; it does not make the A380 the default low-power choice. A discrete card adds cost and increases whole-system power, and the cited guidance is vendor material rather than independent comparative testing: Intel Arc A380 product guide.

Check the stream path before buying
In India, upload reliability can vary by ISP, plan and locality. GetPC.co.in’s 2026 streaming-build guide recommends repeated wired upload tests during the hours you expect to broadcast, followed by checking the platform’s current bitrate guidance: GetPC.co.in’s India streaming PC guide. Its example build is a gaming/content-creation desktop, not a low-power recommendation; the useful point here is the network-planning advice.
- Test from the actual room and connection the stream will use, at the intended broadcast times.
- Prefer a wired Ethernet connection when practical; a fast advertised plan does not by itself establish stable upload performance.
- Check YouTube’s current live-stream requirements before setting resolution, frame rate, bitrate or keyframe interval. Exact ingest settings are not established by the product evidence cited here.
- If you capture a camera or console, confirm the capture device, cables and audio path work together at the format you intend to send.
Verify the complete India configuration
The BRIX is a barebone platform, so confirm what the specific India SKU includes rather than assuming RAM, SSD or other components are bundled. For either candidate, ask the seller to confirm the exact model, included power adapter, warranty coverage and service process. Ask whether the firmware can restart the PC automatically after a power interruption and whether the operating system will restore the streaming application.

Before committing to a 24/7 workload, test the exact setup: scenes, sources, resolution, frame rate, encoder and network connection. Observe temperatures, fan noise and stability over an extended run, and check what happens after an internet drop or power interruption. The surfaced manufacturer specifications do not settle these questions for retail configurations.
Estimate electricity cost from measured wall power
Do not use the CPU’s rated power as the PC’s electricity figure. Measure the complete system at the wall with an energy meter, both at idle and during the sustained workload you intend to run. Then calculate:

Copyright and channel eligibility still matter
Keeping a stream online does not grant permission to broadcast its contents or guarantee monetization. Use video and audio you own or are authorized to stream, and check the terms of any licenses for continuous or live use. YouTube’s rules and channel eligibility can affect live streaming and monetization; review the current requirements directly before building a 24/7 schedule. Replaying content does not by itself establish that a channel qualifies for monetization.
