Choose the 2.5-inch version if you specifically want more width at the shoulder; that specification alone does not establish that it will be more comfortable for you.

Check the fit before buying
- Measure or estimate the strap length you use now, from the guitar’s strap button to the strap’s shoulder position, and compare it with the published adjustment range.
- Consider how high or low you wear the guitar and whether you play standing, seated, or both. A range that works in one position may not work in another.
- Check the width and construction where the strap rests on your shoulder. Use those details to narrow the options, not as a guarantee of comfort.
