For prerecorded property footage that you want to play continuously on YouTube Live, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: upload your videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live from the cloud, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot and a free first day. Gyre is another managed playlist service listed in YouTube’s encoder directory; AWS Elemental MediaLive suits teams that need a configurable cloud-encoding pipeline rather than a turnkey playlist. These options are for prerecorded footage, not a live camera feed.
Which cloud service fits a property video playlist?
The right choice depends on whether you want a managed loop or need to build and operate a custom media pipeline. YouTube lists both Gyre and AWS Elemental MediaLive in its encoder directory, but their roles differ. StreamNeo is a managed YouTube service for keeping uploaded videos live continuously.
| Option | What it does | Best fit | Operational trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Loops uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud to YouTube Live. | A creator or property-marketing team that wants a straightforward, always-on YouTube playlist. | Same product on every plan; confirm that your video library fits the pooled 10 GB storage per active slot. |
| 2. Gyre | YouTube describes it as a cloud tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. Gyre says users can upload footage, make looping playlists, schedule streams, and run them in the cloud. | A small team prioritizing playlist setup and continuous playback. | Check current plan limits, including storage, resolution, concurrent streams, and recovery behavior. Vendor stability claims are not independently established here. |
| 3. AWS Elemental MediaLive | A cloud encoding service listed by YouTube. AWS describes live encoding, scheduled or dynamic input switching, and deployments that can loop an MP4. | A technical team building a broader, configurable media workflow or already operating AWS media infrastructure. | More design and billing work than a focused playlist product; the required AWS components depend on the architecture. |
| 4. Self-managed cloud encoder | A virtual machine running an encoder such as OBS, configured and supervised by its operator. | An experienced operator who wants control over software and process. | You manage storage, updates, credentials, monitoring, process supervision, and recovery. OBS is no-charge open-source software, but cloud compute and related costs are not thereby free. |
This is a functional comparison based on YouTube’s encoder directory and the services’ descriptions, not a hands-on reliability test. No universal winner can be named without knowing your video library, stream count, resolution, budget, and operating capacity.
1. StreamNeo: a managed YouTube loop
StreamNeo is a cloud service from Yorker Media that keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. You upload a recording or create a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and start the stream. The cloud continues playback when your computer is off; the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera.

Videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers. Check that the library fits available storage and that your chosen video settings suit the intended viewers and YouTube connection.
StreamNeo offers short and long billing periods; the service says you can cancel at any time. For five or more slots, contact support. India-based customers can use UPI or cards; card checkout is available worldwide.

YouTube’s encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for streaming prerecorded videos 24/7, without requiring a camera or dedicated PC. Gyre describes a workflow of uploading clips, arranging them into a looping playlist, scheduling a stream, and letting it run from the cloud. That is a close functional match for an existing property-video library.
Gyre’s available tiers and limits can change. Before committing, verify the current allowance for storage, file size and format, resolution and frame rate, number of simultaneous streams, and the playlist changes you can make while a broadcast is running. Also ask how the service alerts you to a failure, what recovery it performs, how it handles YouTube connection permissions, and what cancellation and retention terms apply. Product descriptions are not a substitute for independently verified uptime.

3. AWS Elemental MediaLive: configurable, but not turnkey
YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive as a verified encoder. AWS describes MediaLive as a cloud service for encoding live sources, scheduling or dynamically switching inputs, and supporting automated deployments that loop an MP4. Those capabilities can be useful when a team needs custom switching, production control, integration with other AWS media services, or a workflow broader than one repeating playlist.
MediaLive is a building block, not a one-click playlist recommendation. You may need to design the loop and combine MediaLive with other AWS services. Cost depends on the resources and configuration used, including inputs, outputs, codecs, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, storage, transfer, and related services. AWS’s worked live-streaming cost example includes packaging and viewer delivery for a particular region and audience, so it is not an apples-to-apples quote for an encoder feeding YouTube. Model your actual design with current AWS pricing tools before launch.

A virtual machine running OBS or other encoding software can be configured to loop prerecorded clips and send them to YouTube. You choose and maintain the software, operating system, storage, playlist behavior, and process supervision. This is not a turnkey service: you are responsible for restarting a crashed encoder, protecting the stream key, applying updates, monitoring the feed, and paying for compute, storage, bandwidth, and any support.

YouTube lists OBS as no-charge open-source software; that does not make the virtual machine or its other operating costs free. The available evidence does not establish a particular cloud VM plan as the best choice for this use case. Choose this route only if someone can operate and troubleshoot it.
What to compare before choosing
- Playlist and scheduling: Can you set the order, repeat behavior, and start time you need? Can you change the playlist without interrupting the broadcast?
- Library fit: Confirm supported formats, maximum file size, storage quota, and whether all your footage can be kept online at once.
- Stream capacity: Check simultaneous-stream limits, resolution and frame-rate options, and whether the service re-encodes your uploads.
- Credentials and access: Understand how the YouTube stream key is added, who can access it, and how to replace it if exposed.
- Failure handling: Find out whether the provider detects a dropped YouTube connection, retries automatically, and alerts you when recovery needs attention.
- Full cost: Compare subscription limits with AWS usage-based resources or the compute, storage, bandwidth, and operator time of a self-managed setup.
- Terms and region: Check current billing, cancellation, retention, and service availability for your account and location.
YouTube requirements and stream settings
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. All content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; YouTube may remove or restrict a stream.
Confirm that you have the necessary rights to every video, soundtrack, voice, image, and other element in the property footage. The fact that a clip shows a property does not establish permission to stream all material included in it.

Use a compatible, stable feed
Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it; YouTube says RTMPS encrypts data into and through Google’s servers. YouTube recommends testing before going live, using a speed test, preflight testing with similar motion and audio, and monitoring stream health while broadcasting.
For H.264, YouTube’s current encoder recommendations include 5 Mbps at 1080p30 and 6 Mbps minimum / 17 Mbps recommended at 1080p60. For AV1 or H.265, the recommended values are 10 Mbps at 1080p30 and 12 Mbps at 1080p60. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular source or internet connection can sustain them. Match the setting to the source and the available upload capacity.
YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Its RTMP/RTMPS settings include H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio. Check that your chosen encoder or cloud service exposes compatible settings, and test a representative property clip before relying on a continuous stream.
Plan for long broadcasts and archives
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a continuous broadcast longer than that will be preserved as one complete replay. If a full archive matters, make separate recordings or plan shorter segments. A YouTube API guide also distinguishes a broadcast—the watchable video—from the stream—the encoder’s feed—and describes keeping one 24/7 broadcast live while temporarily creating a second broadcast from the same stream. That distinction matters only if you have a specific need for an additional event video; it is not required for one playlist.

- Choose the workflow. Use a managed playlist service for the simplest loop, MediaLive for a custom AWS pipeline, or a self-managed encoder only if you can own its operations. For StreamNeo, upload the property clips or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live.
- Check rights and channel eligibility. Verify the channel and live-streaming status, then confirm permissions for all footage and audio.
- Inspect the source library. Confirm formats, sizes, total storage, desired order, and whether the clips need editing before upload. Test with footage containing representative motion and sound.
- Set and test output. Choose a supported resolution, frame rate, bitrate, codec, audio format, and keyframe interval. Prefer RTMPS where supported and run a preflight test.
- Observe a real launch. Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and confirm the playlist continues through a full loop. Verify your provider’s recovery and notification behavior before depending on it unattended.
- Decide how to preserve replays. If you need an archive, plan recordings or shorter broadcasts rather than assuming a stream over 12 hours will produce a complete YouTube replay.
Common problems and what to check
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and restrictions from the previous 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, allow up to 24 hours.
- The broadcast will not connect: Recheck the stream key and encoder settings, confirm the service has the required YouTube access, and use RTMPS when supported.
- Playback buffers or drops: Compare the configured bitrate with sustained upload capacity, run a speed test, and test with representative footage. Monitor YouTube stream health rather than relying only on the encoder’s “connected” status.
- Video or audio is incompatible: Check codec and audio settings against YouTube’s RTMP/RTMPS support and verify the selected resolution and frame rate.
- The playlist stops or changes do not appear: Check whether the provider supports live playlist edits and what restart behavior applies. For a self-managed encoder, inspect the playlist configuration and process supervision.
- A long stream has no complete replay: YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours; plan separate recordings or shorter segments if preserving the full content is important.
- A cloud bill is higher than expected: For AWS, review active resources and the full combination of encoding, storage, transfer, and related services. For a self-managed system, include operator time as well as infrastructure.
