If you already have finished gaming videos and want them to loop as a YouTube live stream, a managed cloud playout service is the most direct fit. If the cloud must run the game or create the video feed, you need GPU compute and an encoder instead. A video-transcoding API can process a feed, but it does not run a game. Those are different jobs, so there is no evidence-based universal “best cloud” for every 24/7 gaming stream.

- Process and deliver an existing live feed: Managed video services can ingest and transcode a feed. They do not replace the game-running computer or automatically produce a gaming feed.
A community post phrased the problem as “24/7 stream to youtube with home server / pc?” That captures the practical question, but it is not evidence that any particular cloud setup will work.

Best-fit options, by job
For a pre-recorded gaming VOD loop, start with the managed playout option below. For live gameplay generated in the cloud, start with GPU compute; for a feed you have already produced, consider managed video processing. The official documentation reviewed for AWS and Google Cloud describes relevant building blocks, not a tested end-to-end 24/7 gaming setup.

What a DIY cloud gaming setup requires
If the cloud must render or run gameplay, treat the VM as a remote production machine rather than a turnkey streaming service. You remain responsible for installing and configuring the game and encoder, supplying a continuous feed, connecting that feed to YouTube, and monitoring failures.
- Specify the workload first. Name the game, operating system, intended resolution and frame rate, encoder, and whether the stream is gameplay generated continuously or a playlist of recordings. Do not select a GPU just because its model appears on a price page; confirm regional availability and that the game and encoder are compatible.
- Choose a GPU VM only after checking capacity and region. AWS publishes EC2 G4 specifications and on-demand prices, with the cited page displaying US East (Northern Virginia). Google Cloud’s GPU price page lists GPU charges separately from machine-type costs and varies pricing by GPU and region. Neither listing, by itself, proves a specific game will run correctly or sustain your target output.
- Install the game and encoder, then test the entire path. Confirm that the VM can launch and render the game, that the selected encoder is available, that audio and video remain in sync, and that the output reaches YouTube. Provider VM specifications are not workload tests. Test before relying on the feed continuously.
- Create or select a YouTube live stream and use its stream key carefully. Keep the key private. Configure the encoder to send the output to YouTube using RTMPS, which YouTube recommends. If a key is exposed, replace it in YouTube rather than continuing to use a compromised key.
- Set the encoder to YouTube’s supported guidance. YouTube’s live encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for live encoding up to 60 fps. It recommends constant bitrate and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds. Choose resolution and bitrate to suit both the target quality and the VM’s available outbound connection, using YouTube’s resolution-specific bitrate table rather than a guessed universal bitrate.
- Test and monitor stream health. YouTube advises testing before going live and monitoring stream health. Verify the actual output, not just the encoder’s local preview; watch for dropped frames, connection instability, missing audio, and interruptions after the stream starts.
- Plan for recovery and operating costs. Decide how you will detect a stopped game, encoder, or connection and restart the necessary components. Budget for continuous VM time, GPU, storage, network transfer, geography, operating system, and any separate video-service charges. The reviewed pricing pages do not give a matched total for a 24/7 gaming workload.
Set YouTube output quality to match the connection
There is no safe single bitrate to prescribe without knowing the chosen resolution, frame rate, encoder, and sustained upload capacity. Use YouTube’s resolution-specific bitrate table for the target output, then confirm that the VM’s actual outbound connection can maintain it with room for variation. An encoder setting that exceeds available throughput can destabilize an otherwise compatible setup.

Budget for the whole 24/7 system, not a GPU line item
A continuous gaming stream can incur several separate charges. Compare like with like: a VM that runs a game and encoder is not the same product as an API that transcodes an incoming feed or a service that loops uploaded video.

- Storage and transfer: Account for game files, recordings, logs, and outbound video transfer. The cited provider information does not establish a total for these items in a particular setup.
- Managed video processing: Google says Live Stream API usage is billed on demand, with output pricing affected in part by resolution and configured codecs. Treat that as a separate cost from any VM needed to run a game or encoder.
- Monitoring and recovery: Include the effort or services needed to notice and recover from a stopped game, encoder, or feed. The cited documentation does not establish a workload-specific recovery guarantee.
AWS’s cited EC2 G4 page shows US East (Northern Virginia) prices, so do not apply those prices to another region without checking. GPU stock, quotas, prices, and regional availability can change. The available figures do not support a defensible all-in monthly total for an unspecified game and configuration.

A technically stable loop is not the same as permission to broadcast its contents or a guarantee that the channel will qualify for monetization. Use gameplay recordings, music, overlays, and other material you created or have rights to stream. Game publishers can set their own rules for streaming gameplay; check the applicable terms, especially for licensed music or third-party content in a recording.

Repeatedly streaming a VOD does not make it original. YouTube’s copyright and monetization decisions depend on the content and applicable policies, so do not assume that a long-running or automated stream is eligible for monetization merely because the upload or broadcast works. Review YouTube’s current copyright and reused-content policies before building a channel around repeated recordings.
