The right choice depends on the stream’s resolution and bitrate, whether the server only relays already-encoded video or also encodes it, and how much interruption and archive loss you can tolerate. Compare monthly outbound-transfer allowance and its accounting rules before comparing CPU or RAM: even a modest continuous stream can send terabytes in a month.
If you mainly need to loop prerecorded lessons without administering a server, a managed cloud service may be simpler. StreamNeo is first to consider for that route: it runs from the cloud, supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Which India VPS options are worth comparing?
The published plans below give you a starting point for comparison, not proof that a provider can sustain a 24/7 YouTube stream. No independent workload benchmark or sustained 30-day delivery test is established here. Confirm current availability, transfer accounting, overage or throttling rules, support, backup options, and the final tax-inclusive price directly with the provider before buying.
| Option | What the published listing says | What to verify for a continuous stream |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo (managed cloud service) | Plays uploaded videos to YouTube around the clock; no VPS administration required. Details and sign-up: StreamNeo. | It is a managed service, not a VPS: use it if you do not need root access or server administration. |
| VPSWala India KVM VPS | Lists Mumbai, Noida, and Jaipur nodes. Its catalogue and monthly prices were reviewed on 21 August 2026; listed prices exclude GST. The entry plan is ₹149/month for 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, and 10 GB NVMe. VPS 4 is ₹596/month for 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, and 200 GB transfer. VPS 8 is ₹1,438/month for 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB NVMe, and 400 GB transfer. | Check current stock and assigned node, whether transfer covers continuous outbound stream traffic, sustained network policy, CPU suitability if encoding, taxes, support, and backup add-ons. |
| Endercloud India VPS | Lists Mumbai plans. Its starting listing is ₹999/month for 3 vCore, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, and 2 TB bandwidth at 1 Gbps. The page was accessed in 2026. | Ask whether the allowance means outbound transfer, and clarify overages or throttling, sustained egress, availability, support, and final price. The page markets the location primarily for game hosting; streaming performance has not been independently tested. |
| StreamSetu managed cloud stream | Its service page describes 24/7 prerecorded streaming, automatic reconnects, and YouTube among multiple destinations. It lists a monthly starting price of $5 per live channel and storage starting at $0.10/GB/month; exact quality-specific rates appear after signup. | Confirm current availability, storage limits, exact quality price, taxes, renewal terms, and whether its archive behavior meets your needs. It is a service, not a VPS. |
VPSWala’s listed transfer allowances are far below the payload of a typical 24/7 1080p stream at YouTube’s recommended H.264 rates. Endercloud’s listed 2 TB may also be insufficient at 10 Mbps if it counts all stream egress. Confirm how each provider counts traffic before treating any plan as suitable.

Calculate the bandwidth before choosing a plan
Use bitrate Ă— seconds Ă· 8 to estimate video payload. For a 30-day month, that is 2,592,000 seconds. The figures below are arithmetic estimates based on a constant bitrate, not provider-measured usage; protocol overhead, reconnects, and other traffic add to the total. TB figures are decimal.
| Constant video bitrate | Estimated payload for 30 days | Context |
|---|---|---|
| 6 Mbps | About 1.944 TB | Illustrative calculation, not a YouTube recommendation cited here. |
| 10 Mbps | About 3.24 TB | YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate for 1080p30. |
| 14 Mbps | About 4.536 TB | YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate for 1080p60. |
YouTube’s encoder guide gives 10 Mbps for 1080p30 and 14 Mbps for 1080p60 in its recommended H.264 settings. Recommendations vary by codec and frame rate, so match the encoder settings to your actual video and connection rather than assuming one bitrate fits all. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and test the stream before relying on it.

A VPS allowance is not automatically the same thing as guaranteed usable outbound capacity. Ask the provider how outbound stream traffic is counted, what happens at the allowance limit, and whether sustained egress is subject to a separate policy. Compare the likely full-month traffic with the allowance, not merely the plan’s headline connection speed.
Decide whether the VPS will encode or only relay
Looping an already-encoded file
If the video is already encoded and the server simply reads and sends it, the work is primarily file access and network delivery. Storage must fit the source files, and transfer capacity must cover the outgoing stream. This does not eliminate the need to check sustained network terms.

Encoding on the VPS
If the server must encode in real time, CPU and memory needs depend on codec, resolution, frame rate, encoder preset, and concurrent streams. The provider listings cited here do not establish validated resource requirements for either relaying or encoding. A higher vCPU count alone is not evidence of stable streaming; test the exact workload before making a long commitment.
Protect the educational archive and channel
Do not rely on one indefinite YouTube broadcast as your only recording
YouTube Help says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you,” recommends recording a local archive as a backup, and warns that “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” See YouTube’s live-stream archive instructions. If retaining the lessons matters, keep an independent copy and consider separate scheduled streams shorter than 12 hours; confirm current behavior in YouTube Studio.

Make repeated content valuable and rights-cleared
YouTube’s monetization policy applies to live streams. It says content should be original and authentic, and that repetitive or mass-produced material without meaningful educational or creative value may be ineligible. A loop is not automatically a policy violation, but repeated material should genuinely serve learners, and you need the rights to use all video and audio. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies. These are eligibility criteria, not a prediction of how YouTube will decide any particular channel’s application.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Test the stream before depending on it
- Check the full-month transfer budget. Estimate payload using the intended constant bitrate, then allow for overhead and any other traffic. Verify that the provider’s transfer definition and limit accommodate it.
- Use representative material. Test with the actual lesson video, audio, resolution, frame rate, and encoder settings. YouTube recommends testing before starting a live stream.
- Monitor YouTube stream health. Confirm that the stream is reaching YouTube as expected and watch for warnings or interruptions during a representative test.
- Test recovery and keep a backup. Check what happens after a dropped connection or process restart, and maintain an independent recording if the archive matters.
- Confirm the archive plan. Keep each YouTube stream under 12 hours if you intend to rely on automatic archiving, and retain your own copy regardless.
YouTube recommends RTMPS and documents H.264, H.265, and AV1 ingest options depending on the encoder. Check its encoder guide for the applicable settings and protocol details.

Common problems and practical fixes
- The stream stops when the monthly allowance is reached: compare the continuous bitrate calculation with the provider’s outbound-transfer accounting; ask about limits and overages before subscribing.
- YouTube reports poor stream health: test with representative motion and audio, review the encoder’s settings against YouTube’s guidance, and check whether the connection can sustain the selected bitrate.
- The server struggles despite having several vCPUs: determine whether it is encoding or merely relaying. Encoding needs depend on the precise codec, resolution, frame rate, preset, and number of streams; test the actual workload rather than relying on a generic core count.
- The broadcast exists but its full replay is missing: YouTube warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use shorter sessions when automatic archives matter and keep an independent recording.
- A plan looks affordable until checkout: include GST where applicable, storage, backup add-ons, transfer overages, and any service charges in the comparison. VPSWala’s cited listed monthly prices exclude GST.
Or let it run in the cloud
For prerecorded lessons, StreamNeo avoids maintaining a VPS: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
Start the free day at StreamNeo sign-up. StreamNeo streams to YouTube and plays uploaded videos; it does not stream from a camera.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a VPS in India guarantee a low-latency YouTube stream?
No. A provider’s India location listing does not establish end-to-end latency or stream quality. Test the actual connection and stream before relying on it.
Can YouTube keep a complete archive of a 24/7 broadcast?
Not reliably as one indefinite recording. YouTube says a stream over 12 hours may not be captured at all; keep an independent archive.
